Thanks to a licensing agreement between Ubi Soft Entertainment and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment to create videogames based on DC Comic's darkest super-hero, Batman. This game will come out on the Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Color in the year 2000. The interactive games will be based on the award winning animated series The Adventures of Batman and Robin.
Ubi Soft's Vice President of Special Projects, Alain Tascan, stated, "With Batman's universal character recognition and the innovative art style of The Adventures of Batman and Robin, Ubi Soft hopes to broaden its international recognition, particularly in the United Sates."
Ubi Soft's upcoming 3D adventure titles Tonic Trouble and Rayman 2 highlight the company's artistic capabilities, which should reassure any Batman fans who may doubt that the Dark Knight can be accurately represented in a video game.
Batman and Robin are part of a super-hero renaissance of sorts, promising to take over the N64 starting later this year. Next to Titus's oft delayed Superman, Activision is also busily working on bringing The X-Men and Spiderman to the N64.
It's too early to report any game design details (I am assuming that this game will have the original animation), I'll keep you posted.
