How it all began

Welcome to the Shady Oaks Farm history page. This is just a page to show you how things have changed since 1931 when the farm was bought by my grandparents Reginald and Thelma Briggs. The first picture shows the barn where the 8 milking cows were, this picture does not show the milkroom which was attached to the house across the driveway. The second picture shows the first pickup truck used to deliver milk from house to house. The third picture shows a horse and sleigh that was used to deliver the milk when there was to much snow for the truck. This peticular photo was from 1944 and it took 3 days to get the roads plowed enough to be passable in a vehicle. We hope you enjoy these pictures.
