The Review
A really big dissappointment. How amatuerish are the writers? Heading straight into Sloan's mind where our characters are extremely vulnerable to whatever tricks the man can think up on his deathbed. Our heroes venture into Sloan's mind after he arrives at the station to destroy the cure and sufficiently activates a suicide device when Bashir captures him.

But oh no, the story cannot and will not stop there. Using Romulan Mind Probes, Bashir and O'Brien link up with Sloan's dying but still active brain. Once on the inside, they find themselves "on" Deep Space Nine. Oh how nice, he wanted to make them feel at home...  More like it looks like they were running out of money.

The story absolutely goes sour as it turns into a ridiculous quest to see where in his mind Sloan has hidden the cure. Along the way they are terrorized by whatever little things he can cook up to scare or delay them. Even at one point they think they have found it and left his brain and even cured Odo, before discovering it was a little hoax. That would just be too easy. The one thing actually nice about this episode was that we did see one side of Sloan we have never seen before...a caring one.

Throughout their journey, Bashir and O'Brien find out about the life Sloan was forced to leave behind. In one scene, we see Sloan talking to a group of his closest friends. It was a refreshing experience and insight into the side of Sloan that agreed with Bashir.
