The Review
Can we have more of these? Please? I promise to be a good boy!! Really! C'mon!

Robert Picardo is a good actor, he simply does his job well. The Doctor is an interesting character, here to explore humanity along with Seven and Data and Spock... and well, a whole score of people, so oh well. The decision for him to daydream accomplishes a whole lot. Character developement, The Doc's fantasies are revealed at long last, not they aren't unusual, and at the same time make an amusing episode. As I mentioned earlier, Rober Picardo is a good actor and this episode finally brings in some of that potential that was always there. The other members of the cast were also brought into this one too. Roxann Dawson, Jeri Ryan, and Kate mulgrew also had to do some 'interesting' stuff which only made it more exciting. When they each saw their counterparts it turned into what can only be called some unique acting, that quite frankly was funny.

The ECH idea brought up throughout the episode is actually an interesting place to start for future episodes. If the Doc's idea was really implemented, then what about Chakotay? He rightfully is next on the chain of command, but the ECH idea would leave him out in the cold. It would be a good jealousy episode, Chakotay turning on The Doctor over who truly is next in line, the software or the man?

The aliens would have been neat to learn more about. Them and their hierarchy. Who knows? Maybe we haven't seen the last of them. Maybe they might actually come back with more ships and bigger guns determined to get the photonic cannon which actually doesn't even exist.

Was it funny? Yes. Was it good? Yes. Was it a classic? I think so. Think Voyager has a roll going? Looks like it.
