Whenever this time of year comes around, usually most people are a bit tired of just watching reruns of 'I Love Lucy' on television. As also is usual, the big productin studios play on this by releasing literally hundreds of news tidbits on your favourite TV Series. In recognition of Paramount's attempts to build suspense by releasing spoilers (some true, some not), I've decided to do an overview. What is known about Voyager and their last season on the air as UPN's flagship?
The Season in General
What is known:
- According to recent interviews, such as the very recent one with Ken Biller, Captain Janeway's continuing arc since the beginning of the show will definitely be finished. Captain Janeway will "have to decide just how far she is willing to go to succeed."
- The other characters of Voyager will also see a very large amount of coverage. Over the last six years a lot is left to tie up between relationships. In particular, there are supposed to be a number of Tom Paris/B'Elanna Tores episodes.
What is not known:
- The fate of Voyager itself remains as secretive as ever. Many believe it is possible Voyager will make it home this year, either some time near christmas or near the end of the season. Paramount has remained very tight-lipped, and it is expected to remain so upto nearly the end.
Known Episodes
Unimatrix Zero Part II:
- Janeway, Tuvok, and Torres begin to infect the Borg collective on a larger scale. The Borg queen, fearing a resistance, begins destroying entire Borg vessels because one drone contained the defect. The Queen attempts to destroy Unimatrix Zero, in effect also destroying all drones with the genetic defect allowing them to visit, but the Borg evacuate Unimatrix Zero first and help Janeway, Tuvok and Torres escape to Voyager.
Imperfection:
- Not a great deal is known on the plot, but this episode will be the last for several of the Borg children first introduced in season 6's "Collective." Seeing an introduction will be the Delta Flyer, version II.
Drive:
- Trek's attempt to mock Star Wars. This episode features Tom Paris racing the new Delta Flyer against other starships. A recent TrekToday source reported that Tom Paris and B'Elanna were supposed to get married.
Critical Care:
- The holographic Doctor's program is stolen and taken to a great hospital ship. While Voyager searches for him the Doctor begins to disagree with the unethical treatment of it's patients.
Body and Soul:
- For some unknown reason, the Doctor is downloaded directly into Seven of Nine, meaning the Doctor's mind is trapped within Seven's body.
Inside Man:
- Am story about a Starfleet datastream-sent operative with secret motives.
Flesh and Blood:
- The two-hour episode for the season. Airing in November, Voyager finds a group of holograms that have revolted against what they consider their oppressors. According to Ken Biller, "The Doctor is suddenly forced in a very powerful way to choose between his loyalties to his Voyager family and his desire to help what he considers to be his own people, the holograms."
