Summary
The Review
Laas, the shapeshifter Odo discovers, was entertaining. He brings important questions to Odo's mind. Most importantly, why does he still live amoung solids that don't seem to fully appreciate him?
It proceeds to be bothersome for Odo. As we see true character conflict that is not common of Star Trek, or atleast recently. Odo does not know where he belongs any longer. He is surrounded by friends who love and care about him, and Kira seems to be an entirely different person than how she had once been, yet Odo becomes increasingly aware of the prejudice against shapeshifters.
This was nicely handled over all. I had the feeling the writers were in control of what was happening. The plot was flowing nicely and notbecoming stuck on something like it has before. It was a decent episode.
Rating: A
Other Reviews
Quite by accident, Odo finds another shapeshifter outside the Great Link on a mission similiar to Odo's, but with very different opinions.
The part of me that likes to blow stuff up real good was bored with this episode. This was mainly important character dialogue. But another part of me enjoyed this. The Kira/Odo situation is really heating up. This was really interesting to watch as their formal awkward relationship is now beginning to disolve. It will be fascinating to see how it transforms.
