Gangsters move in on Vic's turf

The Review
Several reviews ago I complained about the use of the holosuite again, I won't mention that review but let you all attempt to go find it, because that would just be too cynical.
So we have yet again another holosuite episode featuring the overused Vic Fontaine. It's old, it's done. The story itself was simply ridiculous. Since when does the entire senior staff get to take part in a holoprogram? It's simply not going to happen, or else somebody from command is going to order an investigation of the station.
The side story here was about Sisko's internal argument over the racial acceptance of blacks in the 1960's. While fascinating, it was simply too awkward. More forced onto the scene than really incorporated into the story.
The story had bright moments, Cici, the big tough guy, being one. The sandwhich was hilarious, and Quark provided the general humour of it all. "Who will be paying?" The thickening of the plot when Nog had trouble opening the safe was simply uninteresting, though. This is supposed to be the moment the story sells us, and it did nothing. There was a lack of interest in what happened here. Gosh, I hope things get better.

Other Reviews
While giving a concert, Vic is surprised when the program is suddenly altered. A holographic crime ring of gangsters has bought the hotel.
All right, who stole my holoprogram? It's more like who stole my Dominion War right when you get down to it. I have severely doubted the writer's decisions about season 7 right from the beginning. It IS the last season, and there IS a war. Where's the bloodshed?
