The Review
While being powerful in it's message, the problems with this episode lay in continuity. Ezri is with them, and yet she's being used as an engineer. True, she could probably be of some help, more than one previous host was an engineer of some type, but what about Ezri? She's a counselor, and it looks to me like more than one person there needs counseling.
Nog's leg. It's a far cry from being killed, he IS a main character, but it helps us to relate and feel concern for what happens here. I just hope it's carried on.

The Defiant is sent on a supply run to a communications array being held by a group of Starfleet Marines. Only then does Sisko and company become trapped on the planet.
War is really bad, and real people, just like you and me, get hurt. It's that simple, it's that truthful, and that's all that had to be said here. I loved it. How often does Trek get this down and dirty? This show demonstrated that even in the 24th century, things are still the same when it comes to war. It never get's easier.
