Siouxsie And The Banshees

& The Cure

Granted Siouxsie and the Banshees, as well as The Cure each deserve their own pages. In time as I get the chance I may pursue that endeavor. For now I'm content to allow them to share a space. I like each for a separate reason, but they do have a great bit in common. Since Siouxsie and The Banshees get far less attention and often less appreciation, they will be served first. Also note that Siouxsie Sioux and The Banshees have disbanded. So if you want any Siouxsie stuff you're gonna have to dig way back and not look for any to new stuff.

Siouxsie And The Banshees

I have found that there is only one female singer that seems to be able to paint her cynicism, detest, depression, and wonder in such eloquent and unique ways. That is Siouxsie Sioux. I have been a fan of hers for quite a while. I first was exposed to Siouxsie in the mid-eighties at some point. I remember seeing the Video to Peekaboo. That stuck with me, catchy and edgy all at the same time. I grew up listening to her off and on.

The Cure

The Cure embody alot of things to alot of different people. For me the cure paint a lyrical world of dream imagery. Rather those are good or bad dreams remains to be seen. If you listen to them and allow yourself to feel the music, you will find yourself carried off into a whole different world of dark sunrises and dazzling moonsets. You will find that the music paints a gossamer veil over your mind and consciousness. Sit back, relax, and flow with them.
