On Standby
Classic Shed 7 Tune, We haven't done much to it, because we didn't need to!
Indeed
A close friend of the band and a lover of indie music described this song as having "a classic chorus" which was taken as a huge compliment. The song started off as a joke containing a chorus consisting of four wrestling catchphrases. The song soon developed into a song telling the story of an alcoholic...I don't know how!
Headshot
An old school metal song done "tongue in cheek" in the style of a generic mid 90's Metallica effort. The first song penned by Ste.
Original
A song written by Bro, was the first original song the band ever played. Dropped and then re-vamped by the other members when Chris joined with a heavy keyboard influence, the song has become arguably the most recognisable F song along with Now and is definately our anthem.
Dancing On My Soul (Go Get 2k3)
The Fabled Bro song that got us our first (and hopefully not last) air play on commercial radio, re-vamped by The F into an upbeat dance indie tune which is what the F are becoming known for.
Heat Wave
Ste admits he partly stole the money for nothing riff to use in this song, but the song is in The F's style and not Mark Knopfler's, Knopfler is one of Ste's idols and Ste see's the chorus of this song as tribute paid to the Dire Straits legend!
Nowhere Man
Paul's first penned song to be played by the band, has a kind of Verve feel to it, mid-90's indie, with plenty of emotion. We have just re-vamped this song to put it on the new cd.
Parmo and Chips
A psychadelic instrumental which breaks off into a set of lyrics talking about a southern journalist and their concept of an average Teessider...breaks into Ghostbusters at the end....generally a set finisher. Written by Paul, Ste and Chris.
The Time
Another dance indie tune with heavy charlatans influence, it's all about how time is not an object...it's all in your head... or alternatively... it's about fuck all!
Sexy Boy
Yes... It is actually a cover of a wrestling theme tune!
Now
Currently the favourite amongst the band. Written by Ste in a free period during his last weeks at Middlesborugh College in the canteen whilst sat with Carry n Jo... who were talking aobut knitting or something. The song is a stonking psychadelic indie/dance fusion reminiscent of "The Music" and "The Stone Roses".
