Who are these people?

Some insights into what our members have done and where they're going.

Marisa Brown

Marisa is the heart of the Excordis Theatre Company as well as being truly multi-talented with keen skills in acting, writing, singing and direction. Marisa has completed five years of Drama training and has appeared on both stage and television. She achieved excellent results in her VCE year, obtaining an ENTER of 95.15 and being named Dux of English. Despite being an unashamed science geek studying Arts/Science at Monash Uni, Marisa still has a love of theatre and hopes to forever be able to use it as a form of escapism from the horrors of biochemistry. We should should also mention that she co-wrote, co-produced and co-directed the last show. There's just nothing this girl can't do.

Trevor Matthews

If Marisa is the heart of Excordis then Trevor is certainly the soul. Trevor has had 5 years of drama training and has written plays both for his school production and to be produced through his drama school (As well as co-writing Leading the Blind). Both Trevor and Marisa have taken part in Lighting and Stage Management workshops. Trevor has also managed to win a few essay writing competions during his time at High School. Trevor is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Arts(Professional Writing) at Deakin University. Trevor is currently working on the script for the next and in coalition with Marisa he promises something wickedly good. Note: My hair is no longer this colour so don't look foward to me being blonde for the next show- You'll just be disappointed.

Bryn Williams

Like so many other members of the Company Bryn brings a number of different talents to Excordis. He excels in both singing and acting as well as being a very talented musician. Bryn completed Year 12 Drama in Year 11 last year and achieved excellent results, and has just finished completing a season of 'Guys and Dolls' where he was lucky (or should that be talented) enough to score the main role of Nathan Detroit. Bryn has five years of Drama training behind him. Bryn's looking at studing Marketing at RMIT next which will no doubt mean the RMIT commerce department will be soon aware of bubbly sense of humour if not his considerable talent.

Greg Bricknell

Since Greg first began drama in grade five, he has been transformed from a shy, quiet little boy into the loud, exuberant lunatic that he is now. Over the years Greg has played an extremely diverse set of characters - everything from roles in 'Calamity Jane' and 'Oliver', to Herr Schwitter in Durrenmatt's 'The Meteor', and more recently playing Jason in Euripides' classic 'Medea' and Roy in 'Cosi' - not forgetting the critically acclaimed role of Mike in 'Leading the Blind'. Greg has also recently completed two weeks work experience at the Workhouse Theatre, where he was in charge of front of house, lighting and sound. Of course, Greg's theatrical involvements have not interfered with his musical talents, with his band 'B' currently recording a demo.

Aidan Murphy

Truly a man of art and intellegence, Aidan's role as Jade in 'Leading the Blind' caused a comic riot at both shows, especially during the infamous 'turtle' scene. Aidan's drama studies begin way back in grade 6, first at the Kennedy School of Drama (where he performed contentious pieces such as 'The Meteor) and then moved on to the school of prestige, St Martin's Academy. After completing year 12, Aidan intends to study Creative Arts at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2000. Aidan is a man of exceptional comic timing both in his acting and his writing.

Nat Flynn

Nat was one of the stand out performers in our first show. She has studied Drama throughout High School, achieving Dux of Drama in her final year of school. Nat was also a regular in the Ringwood High Production, beating her way through the gruelling audition process to obtain a part in six musicals. She is continuing her drama studies at Uni where she is undertaking a Bachelor of Arts/Education. She hope to become a drama teacher upon graduating.

Jordan Mahoney

Jordan is a highly talented performer being an expert in juggling, sword swallowing and fire breathing. Jordan has trained and appeared with Circus Oz and is currently in England pursuing his juggling aspirations.

Kelly Weerdenburg

Kelly was another performer who excelled in our first show, despite being in a car accident the after opening night and appearing on the second night with her arm in a sling (which she worked into her character beautifully). Kelly has studied drama for the past five years, also participating in school musicals such as 'Guys and Dolls'. Kelly is in her final year of secondary schooling, and is considering studying engineering in the future.

Kate Gardiner

Kate is a seasoned performer, having many years of drama and stage experience behind her. She has performed various shows at prestigious theatres such as Cromwell Road Theatre, South Yarra, and Stonnington Theatre, Glenferrie. This year Kate is Performing Arts captain at her school, a role which has seen her write and direct a musical show that was performed at Festival Hall.
