A Major Drag
Snow Princess. An overnight sensation was what they were being praised as. Three girls and one great sound. When they were little, Kristin, Jessie, and Lizzy used to mess around and joke about how when they were older, they were going to be divas. They would run around Kristin’s house singing Spice Girls songs and make up dances for them. They used to laugh at each other and think of different ways to improve what they were laughing about. Little did they know that all the goofing off and all the practicing they did, would work out to their advantage. Little did they know that at age seventeen, they would be climbing the pop charts and at quite a speed.
Well, there they were, embarking on their first tour. And what a tour it was too. The girls were opening up for their idols and inspiration, *NSYNC. In the past two weeks, the girls and the guys had gotten very close. The guys of *NSYNC thought of the girls of Snow Princess as their little sisters and Jessie, Kristin and Lizzy had found new best friends.
The door to the hotel room flew open. The tour was in Miami four a couple of days and the guys couldn’t think of anything better to do in such a party town than to go clubbing on Ocean Drive. Most of the clubs in Miami were eighteen and over, so the girls had to stay in. Lizzy, Jessie, and Kristin were all sitting on the couch watching Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion. They were laughing at a joke in the movie when Joey came running into their room. Lizzy was closest to the door so Joey got to her first. He grabbed her ponytail and yanked it hard.
"Owe!" She yelled grabbing her hair. "What was that for?!" She asked.
"Oh thank god it’s real!" He said grabbing his heart. The girls looked at him strangely.
"Huh?" Lizzy asked standing and readjusting her ponytail. They all suddenly heard laughter coming from the hall of the hotel. The four other guys came into the room with a major case of the giggles.
"Oh no! You are not still laughing about it are you?!" Joey asked looking agitated and very depressed. The guys stopped laughing abruptly so as not to hurt Joey’s feelings. The four of them looked at each other and just burst out into laughter again. "Oh I hate you guys!" Joey said plopping on the couch and throwing a pillow on his face. The laughter continued and the girls just stood there confused.
"Would someone please care to explain to us what happened?" Jessie asked looking at the guys.
"OOHH! ME!" JC yelled. Sitting on the floor like a giddy school girl with some major gossip.
"No! I wanna tell!" Chris said pushing JC away from the girls.
"Let me! Let me!" Lance cut in.
"Would someone just tell it already?!" Kristin asked in frustration.
"Damn it! I’ll tell the story!" Justin cut in. He smiled evilly at Joey and Joey jumped up from the couch.
"I can’t here it again!" He said running into the bathroom and slamming the door shut. The girls stared after him then looked back at the guys.
"What happened at the club?" Lizzy asked a little worried. The guys started laughing again.
"Awe come on!" Kristin whined. "I wanna hear!"
"Ok, ok, ok! Here goes!" Justin slipped his shoes off and sat on the floor in front of the girls. "So we were at this club called Club St. Croix…"
***Flashback***
The lights of the club were flashing on and off. Pink, blue, green, yellow, red, everything was bouncing off the walls. Music was blaring and the dance floor was packed with bodies bouncing up and down to the hype melodies. The guys of *NSYNC stepped into the club after getting let in by the bouncer. It helps to be a famous face when trying to get into a packed club.
"This place is slamming!" Justin yelled into JC’s ear over the music. JC nodded while he scanned the dance floor. All the guys looked out as well searching for someone to dance with, or better yet space to dance on. The place was packed. The guys stood there staring at the place deciding what to do next.
"So, are we just gonna stand here, or are we gonna dance?" Joey shouted impatiently.
"Well, to dance , we need girls." Lance said.
"Yeah, I like ya man, but I ain’t gonna booty with ya." Chris said patting Joey on the shoulder.
"Please! How hard could it be to pick up a chick at this place?" Joey said stepping out in front of the guys looking for a girl to dance with.
"Oh, so Mr. Cassanova Fatone thinks he could pick out any girl and have her fall to his feet?" JC asked with a smile on his face.
"That’s right, you point out any girl in this joint and I’ll get her to dance with me." Joey said straitening out his jacket and pretending to slick back his hair.
"Ok, no problem." Justin stepped next to Joey and scanned around at all the women. There were many pretty girls there, but Justin was determined to find one that would be a challenge for Joey. He spotted her over by the bar. She was leaning up against the table with a drink in her hand. She had on a black mini-skirt and a red tube top exposing as much cleavage as legal. She had legs that didn’t seem to quit and was tapping her stilettoed foot to the music. She looked around and made eye contact with Justin. She smiled at him and he smiled back. He waved to her and turned to Joey.
"That one." He said. Joey looked over to her and his eyes widened.
"Whoa! She’s hot!" He said.
"To much for ya man?" Lance asked.
"No, she’s just right. Tall and incredibly sexy is how I like em’ " He said as he made his way across the dance floor.
"This otta be good!" JC said bracing himself for Joey’s downfall. Joey made his way to the bar where the girl was standing. Joey cleared his throat and she turned to him.
"Hey there gorgeous. Wanna dance?" He asked with a wink. She set her drink down and wet her lips. She was definitely seductive. Joey loved that.
"Sure." She said in a very deep voice. Joey looked at her strangely. Her voice was very manly. Oh well, that didn’t matter. He took her hand and led her to the dance floor. He shot the guys a "ha!" look and began dancing with her.
"So, beautiful, what’s your name?"
"Oh, it’s Kiki!" She said. "But by day, I’m known as Keith." Joey did a double take at that comment. He immediately stopped dancing and looked straight at her.
"What do you mean by day?" He asked a little afraid to find out. She stopped dancing.
"Didn’t you know?"
"Know what?" Joey asked frantically. She stopped dancing and reached into her tube top. She took out a fake boob and showed it to Joey. Her cleavage was suddenly gone. She also removed her wig to reveal a buzz cut. Joey panicked.
"Oh my god you’re a guy?!" He yelled. She nodded. Joey didn’t say anything. He just ran off the dance floor and headed to the door to the club, leaving Kiki standing on the dance floor with a fake boob in one hand, and a wig in the other.
"Wait, don’t you want my number?" She yelled.
***End Flashback***
The girls were still cracking up five minutes after Justin finished telling the story. Joey crept out of the bathroom and looked out at his audience.
"You hit on a drag queen?!" Kristin asked still laughing.
"Oh my God Joey!" Lizzy said in tears from laughing.
"Oh stop please!" He pleaded sitting on the couch.
"Well, you know how they say Joey always gets the girls," Justin began.
"Yeah, now we know he gets the guys too." Lance finished as they all burst out into laughter again. Joey rolled his eyes.
"Please you guys, this was a very traumatizing evening. I may never trust another girl again." He replied sounding extremely upset.
"Oh Joey, not every girl out there is a drag queen." Jessie said sitting next to him.
"Oh, please tell me you’re a real girl! I don’t think I could take anymore surprises tonight." He said looking towards her.
"Please Joey, what do you think?"
"I just don’t know anymore?" He said looking distressed.
"Ok, Joey, I’m a real girl!" Jessie replied.
"Thank God!" He said. "Can you prove it to me?" He asked giving her a seductive, raised eyebrow glance. Jessie gave him a look of her own and pushed him off the couch.
"Dream on Cassanova! You may know how to charm a guy, but you ain’t gonna charm this girl."
