"Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely"

Jessie

It was a very powerful video that was done creatively. My favorite part had to be AJ on the bus. He was on a bus going to Dennis Street it made me realize that this entire video has a double meaning. I mean, yea, the guys could be dead in the video, but why are they dead? Are they really dead? The symbolism of the different scenes for each guy was very impacting. Well except for Nick, I didn't really get his purpose in th video. I think he was sorta there for decoration. This is my favorite Backstreet Boys video now. I'm glad they went uphill from "Larger Than Life" I was never a "Larger Than Life" Fan, but "Show Me the Meaning..." is a definite plus.

I thought that out of all the Backstreet Boys videos I've seen (and that's all of them!) this one is the most brilliant! Now, I'm a big fan of Everybody (Backstreet's Back) that was always my favorite, but now I think that with the work of the fabulous director of the video, they captured a wonderful concept that surpassed Everybody. Normally, the steriotypical boyband way to do this video would've been to show some sad relationship between one (or all) of the guys and some beautiful, model-like girl(s). They'd break-up and the guys would be sad. But now, as I see that the guys of BSB are growing up and maturing as a group, I've realized that BSB can do so much more. This video can really be taken any way which adds to the video itself. The way they intertwined the death of their song writer Denniz PoP (his name appears on the bus AJ is riding on), the death of Kevin's father (the home movies Kevin is watching) and maybe even Brian's fight with heart trouble (the hospital) adds, i think, a lot of heart and personal touch to the video. And the way it's filmed (notice the guys have no color on, just drab blacks and greys) all fits together as they walk into the brightness in the end. What could that mean? Take it as you think, but I know how I intrepreted it as! So, what did I really think of the video as a whole? Wow! It affected me and I have to say that I'm super proud of BSB!
