Lime street Open Studios
Every year Lime street studios (under Byker Bridge, Newcastle upon Tyne) opens its doors to the public. The studios house a huge artists co-operative which There goes Tokyo...was part of this year.
On the 23rd and 24th of November the public will have the opportunity to look around artists studios and purchase or commission work. There goes Tokyo will be selling a great range of small press comics and also original artwork by comic artists from all over the UK, the money from these sales will go towards funding our events in 2003.
The Bishi Bashi events we run are important to the region and to the small press community as they provide a much needed meeting place for creators and are also a great way to sell comics. Particularly since we had the help of DJ Angry and Unkle Buck, we found that we are now selling to a new audience, ones who wouldn't normally buy comics. We hope the studios event will provide us with enough money to continue this work.
