HALLOWEEN 666:THE ORIGIN OF MICHAEL MYERS. The original version of Halloween:The Curse Of Michael Myers.I haven't seen the original version,but it's out there somewhere on bootleg tapes. Search the internet long enough and I'm sure you'll find it.I have read about some of the differences between the original cut and the movie that was released theatrically,and here they are.First of all,the movie starts with a flashback to the end of Halloween 5.We see Jamie walk out of the police station and into an alley behind,where she sees Michael get loaded into a van by cultists.The man in black then comes up and kidnaps her. When Jamie escapes with the baby and ends up in the barn,Michael does not kill her but instead stabs her (with a hook?see pic above) and leaves her for dead.She survives and is taken to the Haddonfield hospital.While in the hospital she has a dream of Michael impregnating her during a cult ritual. Later on the man in black comes in and says,"Your work is finished now,Jamie." and shoots her.Another scene cut out is when Kara leaves for school her father tells her mother that,"She's not my daughter anymore." At school we see Michael stalking her.The rest of the film is pretty much the same. John is electrocuted but his head doesn't explode,his hair just turns white.But,after Kara's kidnapped the whole ending is different.The original version was done with George Wilbur but in the theatrical version A. Michael Lerner is Michael through all of the sanitarium scenes.(I think I like him better than George Wilbur.)When Tommy and Loomis arrive Loomis goes to talk to Wynn.Tommy has his collection of Druid runes with him,which he plans to use to stop Michael.(You can see he's holding the black bag containing the runes when he hears the scream in the hallway in the theatrical version.) In Wynn's office Wynn tells Loomis the story of Michael and the cult,and that he needs to pass his duties on to Loomis.Elsewhere Tommy finds Kara tied up by the cultists.Michael is there,and he needs to sacrifice Steven so the curse can be lifted off him and placed on Danny.Tommy stops the ritual and takes Wynn hostage,allowing Kara and the kids to escape.Then Tommy runs but gets trapped by bar doors.He takes his runes out,puts them in a circle,and then adds his own blood to the circle.When Michael comes up the power of the runes stops him.The scene at Tommy's car with Loomis saying he has business to attend to is the same,but then we see Loomis unmask Michael.In Michael's clothes is the badly wounded Wynn.He sits up and says,"It's your game now,Doctor Loomis." Loomis looks at his wrist and sees the Thorn symbol form.Loomis screams the scream from the end of the theatrical version and down the hall Michael,now the man in black, hears him.The end.I don't know,but this version sounds like it sucks.
HALLOWEEN 666. The film that could of been.Back in the early 90s producer Moustapha Akkad assembled a dream team for Halloween 666 but just couldn't get it to work. The writer was set to be Scott Rosenberg,writer of BEAUTIFUL GIRLS and CON AIR.The director was set to be Scott Spiegel,director of FROM DUSK TILL DAWN: TEXAS BLOOD MONEY and co-writer of EVIL DEAD 2.And the producer was set to be Quentin Tarantino!!!(Sorry Quentin haters,I'm a big fan.)Anyway,the movie wasn't made because Scott Rosenberg's script was reportedly bad.Scott Spiegel got off the project because he didn't want to make a bad Halloween movie. Moustapha Akkad decided not to make the script because he didn't like it.I've heard that it portrayed Michael as a homeless man,but I have no idea what it was about or anything else.Scott Spiegel doesn't know why Quentin left the project.

Written by Robert Zappia,Matthew Greenberg,Kevin Williamson,and Jamie Lee Curtis.Directed by Steve Miner.Stars Jamie Lee Curtis,Adam Arkin,LL Cool J, Josh Hartnett,Michelle Williams,Adam Hann-Byrd,Jodi Lyn O'Keefe,Janet Leigh, Nancy Stephens,Joseph Gordon-Levitt,and Chris Durand as Michael.Released in 1998.Produced by Moustapha Akkad,Paul Freeman,and Kevin Williamson. Laurie Strode returns in the seventh installment of this series,the only one I don't like.It starts off good,with Marion Chambers from parts 1 and 2, now Marion Wittington,arriving home on October 29th to find that her house has been broken into.She goes next door and gets help from her neighbor,a teenager named Jimmy,and his friend Tony.Jimmy goes into the house and sees that Marion's office has been ransacked.He goes back out and tells her then returns to his house with Tony.Marion goes back into her house and sees that her file folder for Laurie Strode is empty.Then,Michael comes at her.Marion escapes from the house and goes over to Jimmy's,where she finds Jimmy dead with an ice skate stuck in his face and Tony dead nearby.Michael comes in and slits Marion's throat then leaves.In Summerglen,California we meet Keri Tate,a teacher at a private high school.Keri is Laurie,hiding from Michael.She has a seventeen year old son John,and a boyfriend Will, and she's an alcoholic.John has a girlfriend named Molly,and a friend named Charlie.Charlie has a girlfriend named Sarah.We get to know all these characters,as well as a security guard named Ronny.In northern California Michael gets a new vehicle from a woman and her young daughter in the best scene in the film.Back in Summerglen all the kids in the high school are leaving for the weekend to go to Yosemite park,but John,Molly,Charlie,and Sarah stay behind to have a Halloween party.Eventually Michael arrives just as the teens' party begins.Charlie and Sarah go to get a corkscrew to open the bottle of champagne they stole earlier.Charlie finds the corkscrew and Michael comes up behind him.Charlie turns around and says,"Hi." Sarah finds Charlie's body then Michael chases her.He catches her and stabs her to death.John and Molly come up and find the bodies and Michael chases them.John and Molly end up in a building with Laurie,Will,and Ronny. Will accidentally shoots Ronny and when he and Laurie go up to check on him Michael comes up and stabs Will in the back.Laurie and the teens escape outside,then she tells them to leave and goes back to fight Michael.She goes back,kicks Michael's ass in the worst scenes in all the movies, and ends up stabbing him several times before he falls off a balconey. She goes down to finish her job but Ronny,just wounded,stops her.(My hero.) Later Michael's body is loaded into a morgue van and Laurie steals it. Michael gets up while she's driving and she crashes the van off a sloping cliff.She gets out and chops Michael's head off with a fire ax.This movie is terrible,it totally ignores parts 4-6,and deserves to be forgotten itself. It doesn't even explain why Laurie left Jamie behind and took John with her. It's stupid in it's inconsistencies and,although the characters are good, the story is lacking and the kills suck.How could they kill Michael? The makers said they wanted to bring the series full circle.In my mind, bringing the series full circle would be letting Michael kill Laurie.That's the perfect ending!That would be great if Michael came out the victor of the series.Am I insane or would that not be cool?Moustapha Akkad says this is not the end of the series,that the series will never end.I hope this movie is ignored or something because if Michael survives being decapitated I think this series is headed down the path of stupidity that the Friday the 13th movies took.I hear that the ending was cut and that in the original ending Laurie unmasked Michael's head and it was somebody else.I don't know who it was but if I find out I'll put it in here.Anyway,H20 gets two and a half stars.Runtime: Estimated 85 minutes.6 kills,1 insult.

INTERESTING FACTS. Many of the character names in the original HALLOWEEN are not original, but were lifted from the names of people John Carpenter knew and from characters in other movies.The name Laurie Strode was the name of one of Carpenter's ex-girlfriends.Sam Loomis was the name of the male hero in PSYCHO.The Loomis name was then borrowed for Billy Loomis in SCREAM and Mrs. Loomis in SCREAM 2.(There seems to be something about people named Loomis in scary movies.In THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN there's a woman named Loomis.)The name Tommy Doyle comes from the name of a character in Alfred Hitchcock's REAR WINDOW.The name of Sheriff Leigh Brackett comes from screenwriter Leigh Brackett,who worked on THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK.Bennett Tramer,the boy Laurie has a crush on in part 1,the kid that gets killed in the car crash in part 2,is the name of the guy who wrote the movie KIDCO,(you know,about the kids selling manure)and works on the SAVED BY THE BELL series. The name of the town Haddonfield is the name of the town in New Jersey that co-writer Debra Hill grew up in.In Halloween 4 the little girl Jamie Lloyd is obviously named after Jamie Lee.In Curse John and Debra Strode are named after John Carpenter and Debra Hill.
