Fourth Century Britain

This map shows the fourth century diocese of Britannia, divided into its four provinces. Only major sites and roads are shown. Provincial capitals are marked by black squares.

The mid-late fourth century province referred to as Valentia in the histories of Ammianus Marcellinus is not shown. Its area, though uncertain, may have consisted of the northern and westernmost parts of Britannia Secunda.
