One of the things I've really looked forward to was the 4-D ultrasound. It's 4-D because not only does it show the baby in 3-D, but there is movement, too. Today was my 29 week appointment and (at last!) the day of the super-tech portraits!!
The sonographer had a hard time getting him to move his face directly toward us. The entire time, either his cord was in the way or his hand (and sometimes his foot) was in his face. So the pictures are mostly profiles, but I was still excited to see that. The doctor, though, thought I might be able to get a good front facial view at my next appointment, so he rescheduled me in two weeks for a re-do at no charge! I can't complain about that!!
Before the ultrasound, I ate some cookies and drank some apple juice hoping to see the baby in action, but as it turned out, it was better for him just to be still so he could have his picture made for the first time. Like last time, we got a VHS of the regular sonogram, plus this time included a CD-R of the still portraits and some black and white print-outs. I've included two of my favorite shots below, in both black and white and in the "gold tone." She said these pictures don't show hair, but I don't know. . .
