DO YOU WANT TO BE SAVED?
The Bible provides a way for you to be saved. Let's read what the Word of God has to say about this:
First, Let's take a look at the Ten
Commandments (as found in Exodus 20)
I. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Have you put anything before God in your life? Was there
a moment in your life where God was not in the first place?
II. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any
likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the
earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
Have you had an idol in your life
(e.g. television, computer, games)? Do you adore
a person (e.g. family member, girlfriend, boygriend)? Do you use
statues in worship (e.g. Virgin Mary, Buddha, any saint)?
III. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in
vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his
name in vain.
Have you ever said "Oh my God"? Have you used
"Jesus" as a curse word? Have you put 4-letter last
names to God, making it look like God___?
IV. Remember the sabbath day, to keep
it holy.
Ever worked on Sunday?
V. Honour thy father and thy
mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD
thy God giveth thee
Have you forgotten about those that
raised and nurtured you? Have you cursed your parents?
VI. Thou shalt not kill.
Have you killed a person purposedly?
VII. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Ever had sexual relations with another
person apart from your spouse? Have you re-married
while your spouse was alive? [Matt. 5:32, Rom. 7:3] Have you looked
at a woman to lust after her? [Matt. 5:28]
VIII. Thou shalt not steal.
Have you taken something that didn't
belong to you? Have you borrowed something and didn't give it
back? Have you cheated
on a test?
IX. Thou shalt not bear false witness
against thy neighbour.
Have you lied
about someone? Have you spread false rumors?
X. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house...nor any thing
that is thy neighbour's.
Have you envied something that didn't belong to you?
HOW MANY COMMANDMENTS HAVE YOU BROKEN?? THE BIBLE SAYS THAT HE WHO BREAKS ONE COMMANDMENT, IS GUILTY OF BREAKING ALL THE COMMANDMENTS.
"For
whosoever shall keep the whole law,
and yet offend in one point, he is
guilty of all."
James 2:10
If you've found out that you've broken the commandments, you're not the only one...All of us have
"As it is written, there is none
righteous [good persons], no, not one" Romans 3:10
"For all have sinned [disobeyed God] and come short of
the glory of God" Romans 3:23
You deserve punishment for your sins, if you were to die right now, your destination would be HELL.
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world,
and death by sin; and so death
passed upon all men, for that all
have sinned:" (Romans 5:12)
Let's review...
1. You've broken the commandments.
2. You've sinned.
3. You deserve hell.
SOME PEOPLE THINK THEY CAN GET TO HEAVEN BY:
1. By doing good works
"But we are all as an unclean thing,
and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;
and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities,
like the wind, have taken us away."
Isaiah 64:6
NOPE, GOD DOES NOT LIKE FILTHY RAGS.
2. By praying to God that He may forgive them
"Now we know that God heareth not
sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of
God, and doeth his will, him he heareth" John 9:31
GOD CANNOT HEAR YOU, ANYTHING ELSE...?
Whether you believe it or not, these things will not get you into heaven. So, what (or who) could get you into Heaven?
JESUS CHRIST
Romans 5:8 -- "But
God commendeth [shows] his love toward us [to you],
in that, while we were yet sinners [that's you],
Christ died for us [for you]."
Romans 6:23 -- "For
the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Jesus, who is God Incarnate, came to Earth to die for your sins. He lived a sinless life, and He died on a cross on Calvary for you. On the third day He rose again to show you that He is a Living Savior.
Now, how can He be a Saviour if you can
go to Heaven on your own?
Galatians 2:21 "I do not
frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law
[by keeping the commandments], then Christ is dead in
vain."
Do you believe this? See what the Bible says about this:
Romans 10: 9-10 "That if thou
shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath
raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness
[you believe and the righteousness of God is transferred to you];
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
You may say that this is too good to be true, actually most people think so too, and they keep rejecting Jesus Christ and go to Hell
Now, what does the Bible say about you getting
saved?
"For God so loved the world [God so loved you], that He
gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever [you
again!] believeth on Him should not perish [in
hell], but have everlasting life [in
Heaven!!] John 3:16
"I came not to call the righteous [since there is no
righteous], but sinners [that's us!] to repentance.
"
Repentance means a change of mind, it means to make a
decision to forsake [abandon] your sins. Jesus Christ will take
care of the rest, trust Him!!
Do you believe this? Are you willing to forsake your sins and give your life to Jesus Christ?
Pray, right where you are, and give God thanks for the gift of eternal life !!.
What to pray (pray something
like this, with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your
mind):
Lord God, I am sorry for the sins I've committed, I am willing to
give myself to you, I believe the gospel of Jesus Christ, and I
thank you for sending your Son to die on my place. I want to be a
new creature. I want to do righteouness, I want my name to be
written in the book of life, Thank You Jesus. In your name I
pray, AMEN.
