HOW TO GET TO HEAVEN

For thousands of years men have asked the question, "How can I get to Heaven?" Today the answer may seem more unclear than ever - a day in which we are taught to shun spirituality, to deny God's very existence, to trade the grace of God for the licentious morality of a New Age.

But there is a clear, precise answer to that question. The Bible says that we can all go to Heaven, and it's not nearly as complicated as some might think.

What exactly does the Bible say about it? The Bible says that we must first understand some things:

1.   Understand that all have done wrong.

The Bible says, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) This means that all of us have done wrong things ("sinned"). Nobody is innocent and nobody is perfect.

2.   Understand that there is a penalty to pay for our wrong-doing.

According to the Bible, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23) Just as we earn wages when we work for our employer, we also earn a "wage" by sinning ("doing wrong"). That wage is death -- not just the physical death of the body, but an eternity in Hell. Since every human has sinned, and the penalty for that sin is Hell, that means that every human is on his way to Hell.

3.   Understand that Jesus paid our penalty for us.

We owe a penalty for our sin that we cannot pay; however, Jesus paid that penalty for us almost 2,000 years ago when He died for us -- in our place. The Bible says, "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) Even though we were Hell-bound in our sins, God sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to die for us, to take our punishment for us. As the previous verse says, this is a "gift of God," so it's not something we have earned or could ever earn. The wage we have earned by our sin is Hell; the Gift we can have from God is eternal life in Heaven.

We need to turn from our past life of sin and put our full faith and trust in Jesus Christ for our salvation from Hell. God wants to give us that gift of Salvation -- of eternal life in Heaven. We must only ask and believe, understanding that we are guilty of wrongdoing and that Jesus is our only Salvation.

How can you be saved?

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13). The Bible says that "whosover" -- that means anyone -- can be saved by trusting Jesus to save them and repenting of their sins. To repent means to be willing to forsake your sins.

"Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ." (Acts 20:21)

Now, if you believe this, this means that you, no matter what you past has been, can right now pray to Jesus, asking Him to save you. He has already paid the price for it. He stands, hands outstretched, ready to give you that free gift.

Now is a good time to settle it once and for all. Remember, you may die on this day; would you die without Jesus Christ and go to HELL?

"...behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." (II Corinthians 6:2)
