Count Your Blessings

We are approaching the end of another year and should be grateful to God.  Sometimes people who have always have everything provided for them forget to be gratefull for the blessings.  They take them for granted.

2Tim. 3:1-7 ¶ This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.  2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;  5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,  7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Now we turn from a warning to an example of some one who was grateful, a grateful leper is cleansed.

Luke 17:12-19

Counting your blessings builds faith.

Once you realize how God has blessed you in the past, you have faith that he will take care of your future.  You will have more confidence in your prayer.  Counting you blessing will cause to be more willing to give to others.

Counting your blessings will cause you to be a happy Christian.

If only the children of Isreael had counted their  blessing on their journey to Caanan.  Then once they reached there, they would have had faith to enter.  God could have given it to them.  (even doubtless)

But they did not consider all the things God had done for them. And lack the faith to enter.  Even in the face of all these miracles.  10 plaques in Egypt, sea parted, fed with quail, rocks gave forth water, the manna they ate.

Let's Count:

We search for many things and don't know what we want. Instead of counting our blessings we worry about the one thing we want and don't have.  We want more and more and want rather than to give. It seems that we always want more and are never content or satisfied. 1Ti 6:6 ¶ But godliness with contentment is great gain.

.every day things – Family friends – medical treatments -  Air Condition or heating, we should thank God every time we get out of the heat or cold.  Stop and notice all the every day things, cars ect.; And Thank God.  No generation ever had it so good as we do.  How unthankful are we?

Consider these facts: If you woke up this morning with more health than illness...you are more blessed than the six million who will not survive this week.  If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation...you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.  If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death...you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.  If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead, and a place to sleep...you are richer than 75% of this world.  If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace...you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.

.Unconditional Love- Is this in the bible?? Yes!

Ro 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  He sends the rain on just and unjust. (Mat. 5:45)  He loves us all. His goodness should cause us to repent.

.Grace-  It is only by the grace of God that we are what we are. (1 Cor. 10:15) What would you be were it not for Grace. How thankful we should be for that grace.

. Peace - The marvelous peace that comes from being a christian.  There is a peace that comes when you understand that this world is not our home and what Christ has in store for us. This life is not what is important. (1st John 2:15-17) These worldly things are vanity. Through Christ we can have the peace of Stephen. Brother Nettles Joh 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

1Ti 1:2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

For the brethren - Acts 28:15 And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.

Salvation- Romans 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

Don't forget to thank God for your salvation. He paid the price. This is a price that we could not ever pay.

Luke chapter 7 forgiven much, loved much.

Luke 7:37-50

We have all been given much. For our salvation is something that we cannot afford, priceless.

God expects us to be grateful for our salvation.

He expects us to treat our salvation with respect and value it. Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

not being grateful not realizing the value.

You probably never heard of Hetty Green. She died in 1916 and left an estate with an estimated value of $100 Million Dollars(not pesos and not 1960 but 1916).
Hetty regularly ate cold oatmeal because it cost too much to heat it.
Her son had his leg amputated because she took so long to get him adequate care because she was looking for a free clinic.
Hetty died in the midst of an argument over milk, she argued that skim was best because it was the cheapest.
She was wealthy but she lived like a PAUPER. She never enjoyed nor benefited from the riches that were hers.

Your soul is the most valuable thing you own.

If God has saved you from a life of sin that would destroy you soul,

THANK HIM.

If you have not allow Christ to wash away your sins, quit treating your soul and you salvation as not valuable.  We give you the opporturnity to be baptism.

Romans 1:20-22 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Romans 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

We are truly without excuse.  God sent his son to this earth to die for us.  He gave and preserved his word that we may know his will.  The whole world bears out that there is a God, and that Jesus is truly his son.  Why not respond today to the goodness of God…  Are you so unthankful that Christ has died in vain as far as you are concerned?

Isaiah 55:3

John 8:24

Luke 113:3

Mat. 10:32

Mark 16:16

Mal 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
