BASKETBALL HISTORY
Ole Miss has enjoyed some significant basketball success recently, thanks in large part to Rod Barnes, one of the brightest young coaches in America. They have never, however, advanced past the sweet sixteen level of the NCAA tournament, and have only received a bid to the tournament four times in their history. In what has become the signature game for postseason choking, the highly-favored Rebels were once knocked out of the tournament in the first round by unheralded Valparaiso, making a star out of then-unknown Valpo coach Homer Drew, and sealing Ansu Sesay's fate as being the best player in SEC history to never accomplish anything.
