Chapter 1: (The beginning)
Lyndsey was just sitting around when the doorbell rang. Lyndsey opened the door and there stood Brian.
“Hi Hun!” Brian said as he wrapped his arms around Lyndsey’s waist,” Nick and I are going to shoot some hoops, you wanna come? Nick’s bringing Jill.”
“Sure, as long as I’m there with you,” Lyndsey replied.
“Great, it’ll be me and you against Jill and Nick,” Brian said with a smile, then giving Lyndsey a soft kiss on the cheek.
Chapter 2: (At the court)
“Hey Jill! Hey Nick! Ready for some 2 on 2?” Lyndsey asked.
“You bet we are!” Jill answered as she held Nick’s hand and pulled him in for a hug,” and it’s going to be fun playing with you,” she continued to say, with a smile.
“Well what are we waiting for? Lets play,” Nick said, anxiously waiting to play.
They started to play. By noon hour they decided to rest for a few minutes.
“Boy, if I knew I was going to play this bad I would’ve sat on the bleachers, but then again, even Michael Jordan would look bad playing against you guys,” Lyndsey said.
“But nobody’s as sweet as you,” replied Brian, blushing.
Lyndsey ran over to the court, picking up the ball and said,” Well lets keep going, except this time me and Jill will take on you guys,” while she and Jill made a strong pose.
“We’re gonna win!” Jill announced,” Lets go kick some Backstreet butt Lynds.”
“You 2 are sure of yourselves aren’t you? Maybe we’ll have to toughen up on you,” Brian said.
They started a new game. Lyndsey made a lay up but landed the wrong way on her feet and fell to the ground, and screamed in pain. Brian rushed over to her put his arm around her as she held her ankle in pain.
“I think I twisted my ankle!” Lyndsey explained, resting her head on Brian’s shoulder.
Brian wrapped his arms around Lyndsey tight giving her a big hug, then picked her up in his arms and took her over to the bench. Brian got some ice from a cooler they had brought and placed it on Lyndsey’s ankle.
“Are you ok?” he asked.
“Yeah, because you’re here,” she replied, as she looked into his eyes.
“I love you,” Brian said, giving Lyndsey a tender kiss on the lips.
“I love you too,” she answered.
Chapter 3: (Leaving the court)
“You’re the best,” Lyndsey said as Brian put some ice on her sore ankle.
"I know,” Brian said, doing a macho pose and a cheesy smile, then shaking his head laughing.
"So are you gonna wait backstage for me after the concert tonight, with Jill?” Brian asked,” or are you gonna stay home and rest your ankle?”
“No, I’ll come, I’m more comfortable and less bored when I know I’ll be seeing you. Jill and I will find something to do, probably talk about our Frick and Frack,” Lyndsey replied.
(Getting into the car and driving to Lyndsey’s house)
“Well I gotta go for my warm up so I’ll see YOU later,” Brian said smiling.
“I’ll have Oliver pick you up and bring you to the arena,” he continued, referring to the BSB’s limo driver.
Brian wrapped his arms around Lyndsey, gave her a soft kiss on the forehead and walked out to his car, as Lyndsey waved goodbye.
Chapter 4: (Later..after driving to concert arena)
“Hey Jill!” Lyndsey announced as she hobbled in the dressing room on her sore ankle.
“Hey! How’s your ankle?” Jill asked.
“Oh it’s ok, I guess. I’ll be fine. What’d ya wanna do during the concert? Hey I guess we could play cards and watch the concert on these screens,” Lyndsey said, referring to the tv screens beside her.
“Sure. The guys should be here for the group prayer any min---,” Jill started to say as the door opened and the guys walked in.
“Group prayer guys!” Aj announced.
“Huddle up!” Howie said.
Lyndsey wrapped her arms over Brian and Kevin’s shoulder, and Jill wrapped hers over Nick and Brian’s, joining the group prayer.
Then the boys, Lyndsey and Jill sang,” What time is it? It’s time for me to go to work yall!:
Brian asked,” What kind of work?”
(ALL) “HARD WORK! UH!”
Brian hugged Lyndsey, Nick hugged Jill. Then they left for the stage, as they left Lyndsey and Jill yelled,” Good luck! Have fun!”
Lyndsey and Jill played cards while watching the concert on the tv screens.
“Go fish,” Lyndsey said, as the door opened and Fatima Robinson said, “Two of the Backstreet’s Back dancers aren’t here yet, do you think you 2 can handle it?”
“Of course!” Jill answered, as she turned towards
Lyndsey as they both nodded and smiled. Lyndsey and Jill dropped their cards and raced out to the costume room and quickly put on their costumes.
“Go with Brian,” Fatima told Lyndsey.
“Go with Nick,” She told Jill.
The music started to boom and the dancers ran out. Lyndsey and Jill ran past the guys in their props (coffins). The guys didn’t see them go by. The coffins with the BSB’s inside rolled out onto the stage as the music slowed down. They walked out of the coffins and started to sing. Brian noticed Lyndsey on the side and he smiled. The chorus came an Lyndsey danced with Brian. When Nick saw Jill he smiled while his eyes grew wide with surprisement, as he danced with Jill. As the song ended all the dancers and BSB ended in a circle toppled on top of each other in a pile.
Chapter 5: (After the show)
When everyone got backstage everyone high fived each other.
“Great show everyone!” Aj announced.
“Wow! You girls were awesome out there! Thanks for covering for the dancers!” Brian exclaimed.
“Yeah, you two were amazing, you must have really paid attention to all out shows and warm ups to have remembered all the moves,” Nick said, as he wrapped his arms around Jill and rested his head on top of hers.
“Well, we try,” Lyndsey said smiling. Later, after they got changed the boys drove Jill and Lyndsey home.
“Thanks for letting me tag along tonight. I had a blast,” Lyndsey said.
“I loved you being there, you were great out there tonight,” Brian answered.
“Well I guess I’d better go, but I’ll see you tomorrow. I’m gonna miss you,” Lyndsey whispered.
“Same here, but we can spend the whole day together tomorrow and you can come to the warm up in the gym if you want,” Brian asked.
Lyndsey nodded.
“I love you,” Brian said softly as he gave Lyndsey a gentle kiss on the lips.
“I love you too, night,” Lyndsey said happily.
“Night,” Brian responded.
Chapter 6: (The next morning)
(Lyndsey smiles as she rolls in bed. She was thinking about last night and how fun today would be.)
(DDRRRIIIINNNNGGGGG)
“Hello?” Lyndsey said, as she reached over to the phone on her nightstand and picked up the receiver.
“Hi beautiful,” Brian’s voice beamed through the phone.
“(Yawns) Long night,” Lyndsey said softly.
“Did you sleep well?”
“Yup. I dreamed of you.”
“Wow! What a coincidence! I was just about to say the same thing.”
“You’re so sweet! So what’s the plan for today?”
“Well, I thought I’d pick you up around 2 pm and you can come to the gym with the boys. Jill’s going and you can ask Melissa to come if you want, since she and Aj are good friends.”
“Sure, I’ll give her a call soon.”
“Ok so I’ll see you soon, love ya!”
“Love ya too!”
“Bye.”
“Bye.”
Chapter 7: (On the way to the gym)
(Brian drives up to Lyndsey’s house where she and Melissa are waiting on the steps).
“Hey!” Lyndsey and Melissa yelled.
“Hi, ready to go?” Brian asked.
“Yup!” They exclaimed.
(As they’re driving)
“So do you guys have to work out before you work on the new dance moved,” Melissa asked.
“You bet!” Brian replied smiling,” Gotta get some more muscles to be a muscle man!” Brian continued in a funny deep voice.
“Nah, you already look good,” Lyndsey said blushing, as Brian blushed and smiled.
“Well maybe you could show us that backflip of yours?” Melissa wondered.
“Eh? Maybe.” Brian replied.
“Can’t do it anymore?” Lyndsey asked.
Brian shrugged.
“Been away from the gym so long, I don’t know. I’ll work on it. Just for you 2,” he said.
“Don’t go to any trouble,” Lyndsey said, jokingly.
“No, I’m only kidding, I think I can still, I hope,” Brian said as he started to laugh.
(Driving to the gym)
“Hey! This place is packed, I guess we’d better find a room so nobody will mob you,” Melissa said.
“Me? Mob? Maybe because Nick’s going,” he replied.
“No, trust me, you’ll be mobbed just as much as Nick,” Lyndsey said.
“Well then I guess you’ll have to hold on to my hand tight so we don’t get separated,” he answered. Lyndsey smiled as the car pulled into the parking lot.
Chapter 8: (They walked into the gym, while 30 screaming fans came running up asking Brian for autographs. After, the manager came up to them..)
“Follow this way to a private room, where you don’t have to worry about being mobbed,” He said to Brian. Lyndsey and Melissa looked at Brian, smiled and simultaneously said, “Told ya!”
Brian smiled and held the door open for them where the other guys and Jill were waiting for them.
“You get mobbed?” Aj asked.
“Yeah, about 30 girls came running up,” Brian explained.
“Same here,” Nick replied.
“Told you so!” Lyndsey and Melissa exclaimed.
The others gave them a weird look.
“Long story,” Melissa said. (The others nodded).
Howie, Brian, Aj and Melissa went to the mats while Lyndsey, Jill, Nick and Kevin went on the treadmills.
“Ok, who thinks Brian can do a flip?” Lyndsey asked,” I think so but he isn’t so sure.”
Nick and Jill said,” I think so too.”
“I dunno, knowing my cous’, who knows?” Kevin said.
“Well lets go find out,” Jill said.
“Ladies first,” Nick said, as Lyndsey walked behind Nick, followed by Jill.
“Thanks,” Lyndsey said.
Nick put his arm around Jill and went over to Brian. Everyone stood watching Brian stretch.
“What? What did I do now?” He asked.
“Well, Frick, we were talking about a flip,” Nick started to say.
Brian gave Lyndsey a glare.
“Ok, I’ll try it, for you,” He said.
Brian stepped back, walked forward and flipped and said,” Backstreet’s Back alright!” Joking about the video.
“See, I knew it. Talking about not in shape! Geez!” Lyndsey said laughing a little.
“Yeah, now I’m a macho man!” Brian said, then walking around like a chicken singing,” Macho macho man! I want to be a macho man!”
Everyone laughed.
“Well macho man,” Lyndsey said,” Do you wanna go to the weights area?”
“Sure, babe. Nothing too extreme for a macho man,” He said, saying macho man in a deep voice.
“Lets go,” She said.
Chapter 9: (After weight lifting)
“Hey guys I gotta go, my sister Angie’s in the hospital, they don’t know what happened, and I’m the closest relative to where she’s at,” Howie explained as he came out of the change room with his cell phone in his hand.
"Oh man, I’m sorry, go, let us know if we can do anything,” Kevin said, concerned.
Howie gave Lyndsey, Jill and Melissa a hug and waved goodbye and said,” I’ll call you as soon as I find out anything!”
“I hope Angie’s ok, I mean he’s had enough pain losing Caroline,” Melissa announced.
“I’m sure she’ll be ok,” Jill said,
(2 hours later)
As Aj picked up his cell phone he said,” Hello? Hey! How’s Angie?”
“She got food poisoning, she’s sick but she’ll be ok in a few days.”
“Well everyone here sends their love and get well wishes.”
“I’ll tell her, thanks.”
“See ya, bye.”
“Bye.”
Aj explained what happened to everyone.
“Hey why don’t we all get some flowers and visit her to cheer her up and Howie too. He’s had enough sadness,” Melissa suggested.
Everyone got changed, got in the limo and started on their way to the hospital, picking up flowers on the way.
Chapter 10 (Driving to the hospital)
"Which hospital is it again?” Nick asked.
“St.Lukes,” Kevin replied.
“Oh yeah. Hospitals are depressing. We really gotta cheer them up when we get there,” Nick continued.
(They arrived at the hospital)
Everyone went inside and asked where Angie was.
“Angie Dorough’s room please,” Jill asked politely.
“Over there, room 253,” The nurse replied.
They knocked on the door and slowly opened it.
“Hey. How’s it goin’ in here?” Kevin asked quietly.
“Hi guys, how sweet, you came to visit,” Angie said, surprised at her visitors.
“How are you doing?” Lyndsey asked.
“Tired, but I’ll be ok, thanks for asking,” She answered.
Everyone stayed for an hour.
“Check ya later Howie,” Brian said, as Howie waved goodbye. “Bye Angie!”
“Bye!” She said.
As everyone walked out, 2 parents walked up and asked, “Are you the Backstreet Boys?”
“Um, yes we are,” Nick replied.
“Our little girl loves you and she’s in the hospital because she’s in remission of cancer. I was wondering if you had time, if you could please sign an autograph for her?” They asked.
“Sure, we can go visit her, where is she?” Nick said. They went to the girl’s room. The parents were happy and surprised to see that they’d meet their daughter.
“Cassie, we have a surprise for you,” Her mom said. The boys walked in while Lyndsey, Jill and Melissa stood by the door watching.
“Hi Cassie! How are you?” Aj asked. Cassie smiled and a tear rolled down her cheek, in happiness.
The boys talked to Cassie for 15 minutes. Then they left.
“That was really sweet of you to do that for her,” Lyndsey said.
“Thanks, we try to keep out fans happy,” Brian said.
“You’re going a good job keeping me happy,” Lyndsey said, as Brian put his arm around her waist, as they walked to the car.
Chapter 11: (The Next Morning)
Lyndsey awoke to the sound of a knock on the front door. She rolled over, climbed out of bed and went down the stairs to the door. When Lyndsey opened the door she saw that nobody was there on. On the ground lay a single red rose with a note attached to it. It read:
Dear Lyndsey We planned to go to the park with everyone But first meet me there 2 hours early There will be a surprise. Don’t be late. Love Brian
A smile grew across Lyndsey’s face. She wondered what the surprise was. She held the rose under her nose and smelled it, then smiled.
Lyndsey walked inside, closed the door, then leaned back and pictured Brian. He made Lyndsey’s heart skip a beat.
Lyndsey walked up the stairs, and went in her room. She lay down on her bed and held the rose to her chin and lay there until she fell back asleep dreaming of Brian.
Chapter 12: (Later that day)
Lyndsey arrived at the park and she saw another red rose tied to a tree. Lyndsey walked over and as she did Brian stepped out from behind the tree.
“Hi, what’s going on?” Lyndsey asked.
“Well I thought we could have a romantic picnic, talk and have a good time together,” Brian said, as he handed Lyndsey the rose, leaned over and gave her a kiss.
“Awe, how sweet!” Lyndsey responded. She then gave Brian a big hug.” You’re the sweetest guy ever.”
“Well you know what? There’s nobody like you,” He responded.
Lyndsey and Brian sat down and ate lunch. Brian had his arm over Lyndsey. After they lay down, holding hands, just talking, about anything and everything. Brian looked at his watch.
“Whoa! The others will be here any minute. Time flies when you’re having a good time,” He said.
“Yeah, you’re right. Thanks, I had a really great time being here with you,” Lyndsey said.
They then shared a long kiss, then they looked into each other’s eyes and hugged each other.
Chapter 13: (Everyone arrived including 2 of their friends, Danielle and Alaina)
Brian, with his arm around Lyndsey, walked up to everyone.
“Hey! What’s up?” They asked.
“Just talking,” Brian said.
“So you guys wanna go for a walk,” Aj asked.
“Sure,” Everyone said.
They all started to walk, through the park. They walked along the path, and at times goofing off by saying meaningless things to strangers. On the way they were telling jokes and Brian and Aj were making Donald Duck impressions.
(After walking through the park)
“Man is it hot!” Kevin said, holding his shirt, waving it back and forth.
“Hey, why don’t we go for a swim at the outdoor rec pool,” Jill suggested.
“Sounds good, lets go home and meet at the pool in 20 minutes,” Aj announced.
(20 minutes later)
Everyone walked out of the change rooms with their towels in hand.
Brian rushed out, dropped his towel, ran while yelling, ” AHHHH!” then screamed, ” Cannonball!” as he hit the water. Everyone laughed.
When everyone got in they decided to play volleyball. Brian hoisted Lyndsey on his shoulders, Jill on Nick’s, Melissa on Aj’s, Alaina (Lyndsey’s friend) on Kevin’s and Danielle (another friend of Lyndsey’s) on Howie’s shoulders.
(After the game)
“Ready guys?” Nick asked. The others nodded. The girls asked, “Ready for what?”
“This!” The guys responded. The guys then leaned over and grabbed the girl’s waists and tossed them into the water.
The girls stood there laughing, then looked at each other, nodded, then leaped on the boys, dunking their heads under the water. Finally each pair ended up with their arms around each other, laughing.
“You know what Bri? I don’t think I’ve seen your scar in a while. It’s cute, just like you,” Lyndsey said, as Brian blushed.
They all got out of the water. Lyndsey shivered, then Brian took a towel, placed it over her shoulders and wrapped it around her, putting his arms around her, rubbing her arms, to keep her warm, then softly kissing the side of her neck.
(Meanwhile)
Nick was standing near the end of the pool, and Jill just couldn’t resist. She walked up and pushed Nick in. Jill laughed.
“You thought that was funny, you’re gonna love this,” Nick said, grabbing Jill’s hand. Pulling her in. She fell into Nick’s arms and as they looked into each other’s eyes they shared a sweet, romantic kiss.
Chapter 14: (Leaving the pool)
“I had a great time, guys but I’ve gotta get going,” Alaina explained.
“Yeah, I had a blast,” Danielle said. Jill, Melissa and Lyndsey agreed.
“Thanks for a great time,” Melissa said to Aj. Aj kissed Melissa’s hand and said, “ Anytime.” Lyndsey hugged Brian, gave him a kiss, and Jill did the same with Nick. Lyndsey and Jill left together.
“I am so in love with Brian, he’s the sweetest, greatest guy I’ve ever known. I can’t stand to be without him,” Lyndsey told Jill
“I feel the same way with Nick. I love him,” Jill explained.
“I hope we can stay with them for the rest of our lives,” Lyndsey wished.
“I hope so,” Jill said, smiling. “Well, I’ve gotta go, see ya later!” She continued as she waved goodbye. Lyndsey waved back and continued to walk home.
Chapter 15: (Four days later)
(DRRIIINNNNGGGGG)
(DRRIIINNNNGGGGG)
(No answer)
Lyndsey sighed. “Guess he’s not there,” She said. Lyndsey decided to call up Jill.
“Hello?” Jill said.
“Hi, it’s me Lynds. Have you talked to Nick lately?”
“Yeah, just a few minutes ago.”
“Has he seen Brian? For the past 4 days, he hasn’t been answering his phone. We talk everyday. I’m starting to worry,” Lyndsey explained.
“Hmmmm…maybe he’s sick…hold on, I’ll 3-way and get Nick on the phone,” Jill said.
“K.”
(2 Minutes later)
“Ok, Nick’s on,” Jill said,
"Hey Nick!” Lyndsey said.
“Hey Lynds!” He replied.
“Have you heard from Brian?”
“Yeah I talked to him yesterday.”
“Is he ok?”
“Yeah, he seems fine. How come?”
“He hasn’t called in 4 days. I mean I love him, I mean I miss talking to him, I mean I’m worried, I mean…” Lyndsey said panicking.
“Hey, it’s ok! Don’t worry. Something must have come up,” Nick said, “I’m sure he’ll call soon.”
“Yeah, you’re right, thanks.”
“Anytime.”
“Well, I’ll let you and Jill talk now. C-ya! Bye!”
“Bye!” Jill and Nick exclaimed.
(Click)
Lyndsey hung up. ‘I don’t need to worry. We love each other. Nothing can change that,’ Lyndsey thought.
Chapter 16: (The next day)
(DRRIIINNNNGGGGG)
“Hello?” Lyndsey said, as she picked up the phone, secretly hoping it would be Brian.
“Hi hun! I’m so sorry, I didn’t get to talk to you as much. I’ve been writing songs for the next album,” Brian explained.
“Oh, it’s ok, we’re talking now and that’s what matters,” Lyndsey responded.
“So what’s up?”
“Nothing really.”
“Me neither.”
“Wanna do something today?”
“Umm… (pause) no sorry hun, I can’t.”
“Ok, how come?”
“I’m, uh, really into a song and I think it can, uh, really be good for the next album,” he said, slowly.
“Um, ok, well good luck with it. What’s it called?” Lyndsey asked.
“Umm…I don’t know yet, I can’t think of a title.”
“Oh.”
“Look I’m really sorry, about not being able to do something.”
“It’s ok.”
“I’m sorry, I gotta go.”
“Ok. I love you,” Lyndsey said.
“Love you too.”
“Bye.”
“Bye.”
Lyndsey was worried that Brian didn’t seem as interested, but tried to hide it.
“His music is important to him,” Lyndsey whispered to herself, “It’ll be ok, nothing’s gonna change, I hope but things have already changed.” Lyndsey lay back on the couch, grabbed the tv remote and watch tv until she fell asleep.
Chapter 17: (Two days later)
Lyndsey went for a walk in the park thinking, trying to clear her head of all her thoughts, when she ran into Kevin, Jill and Aj.
“Hey!” They exclaimed.
“Hi,” Lyndsey said in a sad voice.
“What’s wrong?” Jill asked.
Lyndsey shrugged her shoulders, shook her head and said, “Nothing.”
Lyndsey sat on the bench and started to wonder if Brian still loved her. A tear rolled down her cheek. Kevin noticed, sat down beside her, gave her a hug and said, “What’s wrong? You can tell me.”
Lyndsey leaned her head on Kevin’s shoulder and explained, “ I don’t think Brian’s interested anymore.”
“Don’t say that. He loves you. You love him,” Kevin said.
“But he rarely calls, and would rather write songs then hang with me.”
“It’s probably just a misunderstanding,” he said,
“Come on lets walk.”
They all went walking, and as they did Brian drove by in his car. Lyndsey had a sad feeling inside. Brian stopped and said hi. He got out of his car and hugged Lyndsey, while another tear rolled down her cheek.
“What’s wrong?” He asked.
“Nothing,” Lyndsey said, wiping it away.
“Sorry I can’t stay I was just, uh, getting some, uh, groceries,” he said.
Lyndsey nodded. Brian got in his car and drove away. Lyndsey turned and started to walk. Aj came up, put his arm around her shoulder and said, “Everything will be ok.”
(Meanwhile)
‘Lyndsey looked upset. I wish I had a better excuse. She was crying, and it broke my heart. But I can’t let any clue to what’s going on. She can’t find out yet.’ Brian thought.
Chapter 18: (A week later)
(Ding Dong!!)
Lyndsey slowly walked to the front door. Aj, Kevin, Howie, Nick, Jill and Alaina stood on the steps.
“We’ve come to visit!” They announced. Lyndsey turned, and said, “Come on in,” in a depressed voice.
Lyndsey sat on the couch. Aj sat beside her. Everyone chatted. Lyndsey sat there staring at the wall, not talking. Finally Aj put his arm around her and she put her head on his shoulder.
“Thanks for trying to cheer me up,” Lyndsey said, “But I don’t think anything will make me happy.”
Aj made a Donald Duck impression. Lyndsey smiled. “See! There’s that beautiful smile of yours!” He said, “Don’t worry be happy! Guess what? I’m gonna get Brian to go to the movies tomorrow. Come, then you two lovebirds can be together,” He explained.
“Ok, but I don’t think he wants me there,” Lyndsey said.
“Just come,” Aj said.
“I guess. Brian’s only called twice this week, I don’t think he’s want me there.”
“Trust me. Come.”
Lyndsey nodded.
Chapter 19: (The next day)
Lyndsey walked up to the movies. Brian was there.
“Hey!” He said.
“Hi!” Lyndsey said, with a sad look in her eyes, “I’m gonna get us some seats.” Lyndsey walked away.
“What’s up man?” Aj asked.
“Nothing.”
“Man. She’s hurt. She was in tears, she thinks you don’t wanna be with her.”
“I know. It breaks my heart, but she can’t know, I uh, mean…”
“She can’t know what?”
“It’s nothing.”
“Well she doesn’t think it’s nothing.”
Brian looked down. He felt awful. He wanted to be with her more than anything, but the surprise takes up his time.
Brian and Aj went into the theatre. Brian sat down and held Lyndsey’s hand and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
“I love you,” He said.
“I love you too,” Lyndsey said, a little happy, but still worried.
When the movie finished, Brian gave Lyndsey a quick peck on the lips and said he had to go, waved goodbye and then left.
Lyndsey hugged Aj and said goodbye and walked home.
Chapter 20: (The next afternoon)
Lyndsey lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. She didn’t want to face the world. She decided to call Jill.
“Hi, Jill it’s me,” She said when Jill picked up.
“Hey! How are you?” She asked.
“Not good. I’m lying in bed. I just can’t get up knowing I’m not going to be with Brian.”
“It’ll be ok, he’s just going through a phase or something. Maybe something’s wrong and he doesn’t want you to worry?” Jill suggested.
“No, he just doesn’t love me anymore.”
“Don’t say that! Know what? I’m calling Brian right now! I’ve had enough of the way he’s been! I’ll talk to you later. Bye.”
(Click)
(Jill dials Brian’s number)
“Hello?” He answered.
“Brian what are you doing to Lyndsey?”
“What?”
“She loves you more than anything, but you won’t spend any time with her, or call her! What’s up?”
“Nothing. Look, it kills me to see her this sad but something came up and she can’t know yet.”
“She’s your girlfriend, just tell her!”
“I can’t! I’m sorry! Not yet! I’m really sorry! I gotta go! Bye!”
(Click)
“Bye, to you too,” Jill said, worried about what was going to happen to Brian and Lyndsey’s relationship.
“Something’s up, and I’m going to find out!” Jill said to herself, determined.
Chapter 21: (One hour later)
(DRRIIINNNNGGGGG)
“Hello,” Lyndsey said, answering the phone.
“Hi, it’s me Brian,” he said.
“Hi,” Lyndsey answered.
“I’m really sorry that I haven’t been able to be with you lately, it’s just that something came up,” Brian started to say.
“Yeah I’ve noticed.”
“Well I’m really sorry I just wanted to call to say I love you,” he said.
“I love you too,” She responded.
“Well I’m going to try to get something done quick and tomorrow I’ll come over to see you, that is if you want me to,” He explained.
“Sure,” She said.
“Ok, bye, luv ya,” He said.
“Luv ya, bye,” She said. Lyndsey sighed as she hung up the phone.
‘Maybe it is nothing. Maybe it is a misunderstanding.’ Lyndsey thought, hoping. Lyndsey was anxious for the next day, to see whether everything would be back to normal or not.
Chapter 22: (The next day)
(Ding Dong!!)
Lyndsey opened the door and there stood Brian holding 5 roses.
“These are for you,” He said, giving her a hug.
“Thanks,” Lyndsey exclaimed.
They went into the living room and lay down on the couch watching tv.
“I’ve missed you,” Lyndsey replied.
“I’ve missed you too. I’m really sorry about not being there, but it’s just something that nobody can know about, yet,” Brian said, calmly, “I hope that you can understand.”
Lyndsey nodded, even though she really didn’t understand. Lyndsey and Brian spent the afternoon just watching tv together.
“I’ve gotta get going,” He said.
“So soon?” Lyndsey asked.
“I’m sorry,” Brian said, “I’ll call you,” He continued, walking towards the door. Brian kissed Lyndsey’s forehead and opened the door and left. Lyndsey waved and smiled, but on the inside she felt awful.
Her hopes were up when she spent the afternoon with Brian, thinking things were going back to normal, but when he left so quickly, and so soon made any hopes she had disappear again.
‘I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what’s going to happen,’ Lyndsey thought.
(Meanwhile)
Jill was sitting there, on her couch, watching tv, when she couldn’t stand thinking about what was going on with Brian. Jill leaped up out of her spot, ran to the door, grabbed her jacket and raced out the door. Jill walked quickly down the street, and uttered to herself quietly, “I just can’t take this anymore. I’m going to find out what’s up and I’m going to find out now.”
Jill continued to walk down the street, when she bumped into Aj.
“Hey! I was just coming to say hi and find out how Lyndsey’s doing,” Aj explained.
“Well, I’m on my way to Brian’s. I’m not mad at him but I really need to know what’s going on so I can find out if Lyndsey needs to worry, because I hate to see her feeling bad,” Jill said in one breath.
Aj nodded, put his hand out and said, “Lead the way.” Jill smiled and she and Aj quickly walked down the street.
Chapter 23: (A little later)
Brian opened the door, and said, “Hey guys! What’s up?”
“That’s what we came here to find out. Please don’t say ‘nothing’,” Jill said.
“Are you mad at me? Is Lyndsey mad at me?” He asked.
“No, we could never be mad at you but we’re worried. Look you can tell us what’s wrong,” Jill said.
“Nothing’s wrong, but something is up, as you can tell,” Brian responded.
(Just then the door bell rang and Brian opened the door and found Howie and Alaina standing there.)
“Hey!” They said.
“Hey! What’s up?” Brian, Jill and Aj said back. Howie, Aj and Alaina decided to go talk and catch up to find out how Angie was.
Brian started to follow when Jill put her hand on his arm and asked, “Please?”
Brian sighed and leaned over and whispered in Jill’s ear. Jill’s eyes opened wide, and she exclaimed, “Oh my gosh!” and hugged Brian.
“Don’t say a word, I swear, please don’t!” He said.
Jill said, “I won’t.” Then she motioned her zipping up her mouth shut.
They joined the others in the other room.
“Angie’s ok, she recovered fast, so really everything’s back to normal, nothing much going on,” Howie explained.
Jill glanced at Brian, as Brian glanced at Jill and they both smiled.
“What are you 2 smiling about?” Alaina asked.
“Nothing,” Jill and Brian said at the same time. The others shook their heads and laughed.
Chapter 24: (The next day)
(Jill had convinced Lyndsey to come to the mall with her and Nick.)
(In the arcade)
Nick said while he was playing a video game, “Hey, feeling better?” as Lyndsey walked up and said hi.
“No. Not really, I’m trying to think of other things,” She answered.
“It’s nothing to worry about, everything will be fine,” Jill said, in a positive voice.
“How are you so sure?” Lyndsey asked.
“I just know. You 2 are meant for each other, don’t worry about it,” Jill responded, looking down at her feet.
Lyndsey shrugged as she sat down at a race car video game and started to play. They all played for a couple of hours, racing each other, having fun.
“See, lots of fun!” Nick said, happily.
“I’m still thinking about him,” Lyndsey replied walking away to another game.
“It’s nothing, don’t worry,” Jill exclaimed, trying to convince Lyndsey not to worry.
“You’re really sure it’s nothing aren’t you?” Nick asked. Jill shrugged.
“Wait! You know something don’t you?” He asked. Jill shook her head smiling.
“Well I think you know what I know, that you didn’t know that I knew and I didn’t know that you knew, until now,” Nick explained slowly, confused.
“What? What do you know?” She asked. Nick whispered in Jill’s ear.
“Man! He told you! I just found out yesterday. We must be the only ones who know!” Jill exclaimed.
“We have to keep it that way,” Nick said, nodding.
“I didn’t know he had told you,” Jill said.
“Well we are best friends, plus I’ve helped him out with stuff lately. I’ve only known for 3 weeks,” Nick explained.
“Known what?” Lyndsey asked curiously, walking up to them.
“Um…(pause) that we think Aj and Melissa might go out, I mean they’d make a good couple,” Nick stuttered, making an excuse.
“Yeah, I think so too,” Lyndsey agreed, while walking out of the arcade with them. They decided to go get lunch and walk around for the afternoon, while Jill and Nick were dying for Lyndsey to know their secret, but kept quiet.
Chapter 25: (One week later)
(All week Lyndsey couldn’t stop thinking of Brian and was trying to figure out what was going on.)
Brian walked up to Lyndsey’s door and knocked. The door opened.
“Hi,” Lyndsey said sadly, but surprised that Brian came to visit.
“I just came to ask you if you could meet me at the park at 9pm tonight?” Brian asked, holding Lyndsey’s hand.
Lyndsey nodded.
“I’m sorry about everything, just please come tonight,” Brian pleaded.
“Sure, I’ll come,” She said, half smiling.
“I’m sorry, I gotta go, I’ll see you tonight,” Brian explained, giving her a kiss, then leaving.
Lyndsey wanted to go but thought that maybe Brian would say something that would make her feel worse.
“I’ll go. Brian would never try to hurt me,” Lyndsey muttered to herself, under her breath.
Lyndsey slowly walked up the stairs went and picked out an outfit and was thinking about tonight.
Chapter 26: (At Nick’s house)
Jill and Nick were at Nick’s house cuddled up on the couch watching a movie when Brian knocked on the door, opened it and called out,
“Hello?”
“Over here!” Jill yelled.
Brian walked into the room. Nick and Jill sat up.
“Did you ask her?” Nick asked.
“Yeah, she’s coming,” Brian said sadly.
“What’s wrong?” Jill asked.
“I think I’ve waited too long. I feel so bad about the way things have been going, that I hope she does show up,” He said.
“It’ll all be worth it in the end. She’ll understand,” Nick replied.
“Well I just came to fill you in but I’ve gotta go finish up everything, and get ready,” Brian explained.
“Ok, good luck, you 2 have fun tonight,” exclaimed Nick and Jill.
“Bye!” Yelled Brian, as he left.
“Ooh! I’m so excited! I’m so happy!” Jill chimed. Nick nodded, “Me too,” He said, “I hope everything goes well.”
“It should,” Jill said, smiling.
(Meanwhile)
Lyndsey was going through her closet looking for something nice to wear.
‘I wonder what’s going to happen tonight?’ She thought, ‘I guess I’ll soon find out.’
Chapter 27: (9 PM)
Lyndsey walked into the park where she saw a bright white light. A chair was sitting out in the open. Confused, Lyndsey sat on the chair and waited. Then Lyndsey heard soft music playing. Brian stepped out with a microphone (and the music got louder).
Brian started to sing a song he had wrote called “Be Mine Forever”.
Lyndsey smiled. She hadn’t been this happy in a long time. When Brian finished, the song “Darlin” played. Brian took Lyndsey’s hand and he got down on one knee.
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t there and this is the reason why. I love you more than anything and I wanna be with you forever, will you marry me?” Brian asked.
Tears welled up in Lyndsey’s eyes. “Yes! Yes! Of course I’ll marry you!” Lyndsey exclaimed, nodding.
She then threw her arms around Brian’s neck, hugging him. Brian placed a gold ring on Lyndsey’s finger.
“I wasn’t there with you because I had to get a ring, write the song, and set-up all this to make everything perfect,” Brian explained.
“I’m sorry, I should’ve been more understanding. This is perfect!” Lyndsey said happily.
“I’m just sorry I made you feel bad. I hope this helps,” He said.
“Yeah, this is the best thing that’s ever happened to me!” She exclaimed.
“I love you,” Brian said.
“I love you too,” Lyndsey said.
Then they shared a passionate kiss that would last a lifetime.
The End.
