Welcome to my web site. I have been a solitary wiccan for over six years now. It is extremly hard to maintain a religion on your own. The internet has been a wonderful tool to help me meet other, like-minded people. Still most of the sites I have been to were directed to the beginning practioner. I want this site to be more a study page for the intermediate student. With this in mind I plan to include things like legends of wicca, history of wicca, rituals, holidays and other practical information.
Although wicca is a serious religion not to be taken lightly, it can also be a whole lot of fun. Don't be
afraid to try new things. Create your own rituals, write your own spells.
If you truly believe something will work, then it will.
Just remember not to infringe on anyone else's rights. "An it harm none, do what thou will."
Almost everyone has heard this saying. It is the most important rule in Wicca, and when it comes down to it,
in life.
WICCA: Wicca is a nature religion. It is based on the ancient pagan religions of the pre-Christians.
It is extremly electic. Each person brings their own style to the religion. It is like the old greeting
"Come freely, Go with peace, Leave a little happiness behind." So, while each person learns a lot from
wicca, they also teach something too. It is one of the few religions that doesn't use conformity and control
to gain power over it's followers.
I have often been asked my feelings on different wiccan beliefs. Here is my answer:
There are many truths in the world and many beliefs. In fact I once heard it said that there are as many
different beliefs as there are people. When you believe in something you also have faith in it. Everyone has
faith in something. With some it's faith in religion. With others it's faith in science. It may even be a faith
that the world you wake up in tomarrow is the same one you went to sleep in tonight.
Wiccans of course have faith in their religion, in the Goddess and God, and in all things natural and magickal.
But above this Wiccans have faith in the power of human belief. If just one person believes in something
strong enough then they make it so. This is the key that holds witches together no matter how different their individual
worship system is. This is also why we don't try to bring others to our way of belief. Because in our eyes all religions are
valid if it is believed to be so. So to the question of which type of wicca is better I say this, There are many paths
through the same forests, take the one that appeals to your heart and spirit.
