If you haven't noticed already, I love MUSCLE CARS and auto racing. NASCAR seems to get all of the attention these days, but the type of cars and racing speed that I really enjoy is usually found in the NHRA Championship Drag Racing circuit. Here are the profiles of two American racing legends.

Kenny Bernstein became a full-time professional Funny Car driver in 1979 with the Ray Alley owned "Engine Masters" Ford Mercury Cougar. Bernstein won his first Funny Car championship in 1985, and in 1990 began to drive in the Top Fuel Dragster class.

He became the first driver in any class to exceed 300 MPH in competition, and won his first Top Fuel championship in 1996, becoming the first driver in NHRA history to win a championship in both of the nitro classes.

Bernstein retired in 2002, but in September 2006 announced that he would return to racing in the Funny Car division the following season with the Monster Energy Dodge Charger. His return to active competition was not as successful as he had hoped, and he returned to retirement after the season ended. Check out Kenny's official website here >>> Kenny Bernstein Racing.

Gary Gabelich, a San Pedro native, began his racing career as a teenager, winning first place in the stock eliminator drag racing class at Santa Ana at age sixteen. At age nineteen he won the world's first jet dragster race, topping 250 MPH.

He was the first man to break into drag racing's seven-second bracket, driving a Double A Fuel dragster at 7.05 seconds in 1967. He drove the Beach City Chevrolet Corvette funny car to speeds over 200 MPH, a first for a Chevrolet funny vehicle powered by a liquid gas-hydrogen peroxide rocket engine.

On October 23, 1970 Gary set the land speed record on a dry lake bed at Bonneville Salt Flats in Wendover, Utah with his rocket-powered vehicle "Blue Flame". He achieved an average speed of 622.287 MPH and a peak speed of 650 MPH, a land speed record that existed for almost 13 years.

Gabelich was seriously injured in the crash of an experimental 4 wheel drive funny car. Gabelich died in January 1984 in a motorcycle crash.

Hey everybody, I just wanted to tell you how much I have been enjoying watching Women's Big Ten Soccer matches on TV every week.  After recently rediscovering how much I love tennis, I have found a new love - Women's Big Ten Soccer. It is so much fun to relax and have a beer and watch these women play a match on the fantastically landscaped fields of the midwestern universities. Last week I watched Purdue at Iowa and a couple of days ago I enjoyed the Michigan at Northwestern game. Northwestern has such an awesome field! Sometimes the games can get a little slow but, with the positive energy of the attractive ladies and all of the beautiful scenery, it is always a good time. I can't wait to see the next game each week. I will really enjoy the Semifinal and Championship games at Iowa, be sure not to miss the action. Check out the television schedule listed below for upcoming Women's Big Ten Soccer matches. The times may vary by location, so check your local listings.

Yesterday I went to the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. When I first arrived during the Champ Car Qualifying (Session 1) I went under the underpass of the Performing Arts Center which made a huge echo chamber and man it was LOUD! I didn't realize until I had to move huge barricades to get out of there that it had been OFF LIMITS but I had been allowed to go there without hassle from anybody. I started off the events by having a few Heineken beers at the Hyatt. The weather was great and I was having a good time. I also checked out the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Qualifying from the bar and pool area of the hotel. Then, from a seat at the starting/finish line I was able to watch the American Le Mans Series Qualifying which was a very good race. Then it was back to the hotel for more beer, at which time the Formula Drift/Super Lap Practice was happening. After that I went to Bubba Gumps and saw Uncle Joe broadcasting live for KLOS. If you want to check out the action ESPN will be showing the CHAMP CAR ATLANTIC EVENTS today April 20, 2008, and then the 34th Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach Champ Car Race on Sunday will be picked up by ABC so check your local listings.

WORK SUCKS! There is nothing to do except talk about CHICKS, PARTIES, AND BIG WAVES!! On the topic of REALLY BIG WAVES, in San Francisco this past winter the local news reported the waves had just reached over 20 feet tall during an annual contest up there. My friend told me he knew about this and that I should check out >>>>> SURFLINE.COM and the pictures of a place called >>>>> TEAHUPOO TAHITI where they have totally vertical monster waves and reportedly the "heaviest wave in the world". Here are some cool links to pictures and information about the place >>>>> YAHOO! TRAVEL  >>>>> SURFER MAGAZINE.

Home Page:

Firstly, you have a great Blog and deservedly it seems to be going very well indeed.

We have just created a new website called and needless to say we are currently looking for high quality links from sites such as yours.

Our site would be of interest to anyone of your visitors looking on Courses in the UK and especially Scotland where we are adding information continually at present. As you will see, our course directory holds enormous amount of information regarding clubs and courses. If you look at Kingsbarns for example, we have all the information any visitor needs and its all be packaged into a PDF Course Guide that people can download to read, print or share with friends.

We also have a member’s area mainly for UK golfers with handicap calculator, online leagues, scorecard recorder, and a playing finder facility. Over this week we are also updating our members section and it’s presently free to join. We are developing the social networking opportunities of the site, with small individual blog sections for members etc that will be available to be viewed by the public.

Recently we also covered the Dunhill International Links Championship and we thought that some sites may be interested in using some images that we produced. We have full copyright for the images but they must be used in an editorial way and not to advertise a product. Therefore, please visit here and follow the link to view our photography of the event. If you wish to use an image, we ask that a link is added to us within the image and as a caption to the photograph.

Now, I hope that something is of interest to you and more importantly to your readers.

If you have any questions, please get in touch.

Kind regards

Reagan Pannell

The Boston Red Sox win their second World Series trophy in four years after a 4-3 win against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field in Denver on Sunday night. The Red Sox have won their last eight World Series games. This gives Boston their second World Series sweep in four years. It's hard to believe that three of the last four World Series champions swept the series. The last two championships for the Red Sox come after the team went 85 years without a title.

Project Gotham Racing and Forza Motorsport
Mood:  on fire
Topic: auto racing

I love a good race! Whether it's Top Fuel Funny, Top Fuel Hydroplane, MotoGP or NASCAR. As dangerous as these sports are, it's fun to simulate the experience. There are a couple of games that look really cool! Forza 2 Motorsport is an accurate simulation of circuit-based play. It has the ability to realistically model damage to over 200 cars. Project Gotham Racing 4 released October 2, 2007 simulates ten advanced weather effects and features Tokyo, New York, the Nürburgring, London and Las Vegas, Shanghai, St. Petersburg, Quebec City, Macau and Michelin Test Tracks. Some of the vehicles you can race include >>> Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano,  >>> Ferrari F430,  >>> Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren,  >>> Tesla Roadster,  >>> Chevrolet Corvette, and a Yamaha Motorcycle.  >>>
