BACKGROUND WITH MULDER/SCULLY:

Before X died,he wrote the initals "SRSG" on the floor of Mulder's apartment in his own blood. The initials lead Mulder to the Assistant to the U.N.'s Special Representative to the Secretary General. Her name was Marita Covarrubias. Mulder's latest informant.

Although she denied the existence of the Canadian colonization farm, she handed Mulder a secret  U.N. file containing photographs of the apparently alien nursery and a workforce of young
Samantha clones.

She assisted Mulder by finding out where a pouch containing an alien-infested meteor fragment came from. It lead Mulder to Tunguska, Siberia. With credentials provided by Marita, Mulder was able to travel to Russia under the guise of a U.N. diplomat.

She has also helped Skinner. He had called Marita and inquired about the Canadian project involving bees after the body of a mail sorter was discovered, the victim of a swarm of bees. Marita appeared at a hospital in Payson, SC after several schoolchildren were attacked and repeatedly stung by a swarm of bees. She had made some inquiries and discovered that seven overnight packages had been shipped brom Canada to a post office box in Payson.

Afterwards, Marita telephoned CSM("Cigarette Smoking Man"), who instructed her to tell Mulder whatever he wanted to hear.

After many deaths involving supposed alien abductees, Marita confronted Krycek since both wanted evidence as to what happened. It was later we find out that both Marita and Krycek had known each other in a more personal way. But Marita double-crossed him and took the only witness to the deaths who was know infected with the Black Oil(a.k.a. "Purity", "Black Cancer"). In the process Marita was infected with the Black Oil. She was seen on a hospital bed being a test subject for the Syndicate who were trying to find a cure for the Black Oil. They've conducted tests on her. The last time we see her is on 'Two Fathers", where she doesn't look so good as a result of the tests, and is quiet possibly dead.
