INTRODUCTION
 

THIS COURSE IS DESIGNED TO ACQUAINT THE STUDENT WITH VARIOUS ENCOUNTERS OF FAMILY LIVING WITH EMPHASIS ON DATING, COMPANIONSHIP, MARRIAGE, SEX EDUCATION, FAMILY PLANNING, PARENTHOOD, AND DIVORCE AS IT RELATES TO THE SOCIAL INSTITUTION.
 

DESCRIPTION OF SITUATION
 

A. TIME ALLOTMENT
1. THE CLASS MEETS THREE DAYS PER WEEK
2. EACH CLASS WILL COVER FIFTY-MINUTES
3. THE EVENING CLASS WILL COVER 3 HOURS ONE DAY A WEEK

OBJECTIVES
 
 

1. TO AID THE STUDENT IN GAINING AN ADEQUATE UNDERSTANDING OF RELATIONSHIPS.

2. TO ASSIST THE STUDENT IN GAINING SUFFICIENT KNOWLEDGE OF RELATIONSHIPS.

3. TO HELP THE STUDENT GAIN KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDES ABOUT SEX EDUCATION, FAMILY PLANNING AND PARENTHOOD

4. TO AID THE STUDENT IN THE REALIZATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF MARRIAGE AND/OR DIVORCE.

UPON COMPLETION OF THIS COURSE A STUDENT SHOULD BE ABLE TO:
 

1. SELECT/DEVELOP AND SEQUENCE RELATED LEARNING ACTIVITIES APPROPRIATE FOR A GIVEN SET OF INSTURCTIONAL OBJECTIVES AND STUDENT LEARNING NEEDS.

2. DEMONSTRATE AN AWARENESS OF PATTERNS OF PHYSICAL AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT IN STUDENTS.

EVALUATION
 

    Each student is required to take all examination, do outside reading and complete all special projects and assignments.
 

GRADING SCALE:

90 - 100%  = A
80 -  89%  = B
70 -  79%  = C
60 -  69%  = D
Below 60%  = F

Examinations
 

Incomplete Grade
 

   Incomplete grades will be given only if a student misses an examination who has an excuse from the Dean of Student and for some valid reson cannot make it up.
 

Assignments

   Dates will be given to students for special assignments to be turned in. Assignment will not be accepted after the assigned date unless the student has a valid excuse.

   Plagiarism is to copy someone eles work and is grounds of receiving a "F" in the course.
