He Gave the Sea to Me
December 30, 1996
Gentle wind on a calm, crystal lake.
It blows the fisherman to the safety of a bay
It's all he has, don't take it away
It's where he'll always be
It's where I'll leave him be
in my memory, fishing endlessly
in the calm, cool breeze.
And when he sinks from sight
I'll cry and cry and cry ...
The sun will always rise
just for him
And when he docks his small boat
it sinks below the earth.
And he taught me how to fish
he gave me endless sea
he gave me everything
he gave the sea to me.
