On May 3, 1999 Trinidad &
Tobago released four stamps and one Souvenir Sheet honouring the crowning of ‘Miss
Universe 1998’ of ‘Wendy Titzwilliam’ of their own. This Trinidad &
Tobago entrant convincingly beat all other contestants to take the MISS UNIVERSE title on
12th May, 1998. Televised to one hundred countries, the 47th Annual MISS UNIVERSE Pageant
was held in Honolulu, Hawaii at the Stan Sheriff Center where, from a field of 80
competitors representing 80 countries, their Wendy emerged as winner. The stamp designs
show Wendy in various costumes and mood.
