Colin - The drummer/manager.

Colin has been drumming most of his life, starting with the spoons on a dinner plate. After years of talking about it, borrowing gear and doing it now and again, discussing the potential with friend and guitarist, John, he has finally bought some gear and got a Rock'n'Roll band going. During the procrastination period he spent ten excellent years as a drummer in a pipe band which contributed much to his experience. He is not renowned as a lead vocalist but is able to croak out some very acceptable bop shu woddy woddies and stay in tune through nearly a whole chorus. He is the only sensible one in the band and is able to maintain the beat while the others are almost rolling about the stage in a laughing fit over something trivial.

Apart from the musical aspect he does the advertising, takes the bookings and breaks up the fights.

John - Guitarist, vocals

As a young chap, appeared in various bands at various venues as a very competent bass player. He had a long break from bands while he raised a family. During this time he diversified to, and became proficient on, guitar. A friend and fellow work mate of Colin, John also knew the potential of Rock'n'Roll music. This was a subject they discussed, frequently, and at length over a few beers. The dream is now realised and John's style with the guitar is a key feature of the Band's sound.

He was dropped in the deep end as lead vocalist when Roger ran out of breath and does a commendable job of the songs assigned to his voice. In the past he has done such things as dressing as Santa on the stage and dancing with the audience. Introduced to the benefits of a wireless guitar pick he can now do this without people tripping over his lead.

Roger - Keyboards, vocals (back fully revived)

Roger, commonly known as Rog, is older than John but has not suffered the stress of working with Colin so looks a lot younger. He is an awesome bass player, can honk out good rockers as a lead vocalist and is not too shabby on his keyboard (which has 9 457 281 sounds), which he now plays in this line up. Rog has been in the band scene for n years and first met up with Colin when the two of them played in a band which never got out of the practice shed. More recently, after a 6mth spell in another band with Colin, Roger's own passion for Rock'n'Roll manifested itself. Then there were 3 people with a common goal and the "Road Runners" was born.

Roger is always looking to extend his musical self. He now brings his guitar to gigs also, enabling the band to do some "Shadows" type instrumentals as well as adding a rocking rhythm to the songs that require more of that style than keyboards.

Phil - Bass guitar

Phil was relieving in a band at club where Colin and his wife were visiting for an anniversary night out. At the time RoadRunner was looking for a new Bass player. After a brief chat during a break Phil was at the next practice and in. Phil comes from a musical family. His most recent band was a country Rock line-up. His wife is also a bass player in a band playing the same circuit as Road Runner. Her father and brother are both drummers, a very rhythmical lot. Phil's driving bass style has added much to the energy of the band's music. He is a bit of a lunatic, therefore fits in well.

Charlotte -Female Vocals

The latest addition to the line up and new to working bands, has much experience and talent in the country music awards scene, singing country and country rock. Charlotte was recruited when the guys decided that their audiences had had enough of just male voices. She is the youngest in the band by far but her great voice and enthusiasm will ensure a long career in working bands. She is more than up to the challenge of working with 4(I mean 3, Col is sensible) crazy guys.

Brian - Keyboards, vocals(valued short term fill in for Roger)

Brian first met the guys as a musical instrument salesperson. Several times he expressed an interest in the style of music RoadRunner was doing and was more than willing to step in on keys when Roger needed a break. He has a varied musical background but most recently has been entertaining in the Rock idiom, playing loud music to pulsating youngsters in the trendy pub scene. He brought some very useful ideas on production and presentation from this background to Roadrunner. Armed with a cordless mike, he would occasionally vanish from behind his keyboard and re-appear singing from among the audience or even on the bar.

His key-board playing is pretty reasonable also.

Tania - Keyboards (gone but not forgotten)

A founding member of the Road Runners. Tania was a classical pianist who, after some casual playing of Rock'n'Roll with John and Colin, became a full convert. Able to thump out Jerry Lee type piano with ease, she was a natural choice as keyboard player at the out set of Road Runners Rock'n'Roll. (Rog played bass back then.) Sadly after playing for a few months during the band's establishing period she had to give up due to family commitments. This gave rise to the return to keyboard by Roger and the recruitment of Paul on bass(now retired)

An Honorary Road Runner forever. We wish her well.
