CSM is revealed to be Mulder's father, and Mulder turns out to be immune to the coming alien plague. This genetic material is transferred to CSM. Scully uses all available resources to find Mulder, who has disappeared from the hospital. She even confronts Fowley, who eventually gives Scully the key to the DOD where Mulder is being kept. Fowley is found murdered a week later.
