My name was Entak 2514. I was the 2,514th pod from Entak's side. When we are born, we automatically get all knowledge that our tripartite parents had. I was told that in command of all Yeerks was the Council of Thirteen. The Council was the original hierarchy before our rebirth. We call the meeting between Prince Seerow,an Andalite, rebirth. Seerow, the one good Andalite, gave us Yeerks the technology we deserve.
Since the rebirth there have been new ranks, Sub-Visser and Visser, to help add order to the all-powerful Yeerk Empire. Very few Yeerks know a lot about the Council, but right away, I knew I wanted to be at the top.
Message had passed to me that I was to control a Gedd soon. Since our rebirth, we have gotten two new races, Hork-bajir and Taxxon. Gedds are the basic training hosts. They are for Teleks, or space cadets, like me.
It was a very happy moment for me when I had gotten a Gedd. A huge splashing noise had sounded when the Gedd was thrust into the water. I found my way to the primitive and small ear canal of the Gedd. It was a tight and narrow passageway and I secreted a chemical called earabalm. My palps were feeling for something that seemed powerful. I squeezed my way through, and then I felt a spark of electricity. My instinct was taking over, now. My palps touched pure electricity caused by the synapses of the brain. I flattened my self and ozzed and squirmed my way into every little canyon of information. My mind buzzed with incoming visions and memories that I could control. I felt so much power.
And then, I found a sense that was new to me. I believe it is called sight. It was a very wonderful thing to sense. All the colors! It was overwhelming. It seemed like I stood there for cycles just wondering like a complete idiot why I didn't know about sight before.
I was brought back to my senses when Afentur 1593 said,"Telek Entak 2514, you are to report for duty at room 182. You are to begin training. That is all." Afentur 1593 was a general who had a Hork-bajir host. He was in charge of training.
I went into room 182. There were other gedds who looked exactly like me. Of course some were a liter or darker shades of purple depending on how old the Gedd was. We were all in a circle when Afentur came into the room. He entered inside of the circle, right in the middle.
"Today, you will begin training," Afentur said in the snarling like voice a Hork-bajir speaks. I knew he regretted having to train us lowly Teleks. It showed in his voice. "I shall personally train you to be useful to the Yeerk Empire. Today, we wil learn target shooting." He held up a red and black gun. I recognized this as a Dracon beam. It is named after it's inventor, Dracon 1423."This is a series 6 hand-held Dracon blaster. It is a modified version of a Bug fighter Dracon beam. You will be using this for ground combat duty. You know, guard duty. A Dracon beam has ten settings. One stuns a small creature. Ten burns a hole through titanium steel. You change the settings by switching this dial," He moved the dial on the Dracon beam."I will hand you each a practice version of a Dracon beam. You will be shooting at an Andalite hologram. The computer will total your score automatically." He handed each of us a Dracon beam. Afentur then assigned each of us a different computer.
The computer was a 1 meter tall cylinder. It had a slit on one side that projected the hologram. Running from the bottom of it was a long cord connected to the wall.
"Your time will begin...now!" A hologram appeared suddenly in front of the computer. It was a bluish tan alien. It had the body of an Earth animal called a deer. The upper half was like a human body. There was no mouth, just three slits. Stalk eyes were protruding out of the head. What really stood out was that trademark tail that killed so many of us superior Yeerks. It was an Andalite filth.
I shot with accuracy many times. I know what they did to my brothers and sisters. I know what they did to my race. And here before my eyes stood one of those many beings who envy and hate us. I shot once,he was missing a stalk. I shot again, he can now only see with main eyes I shot and shot and shot. I never missed once, and by my time was up there wasn't a body at all. I had desintegrated it.
Afentur passed out scor sheets to me and my fellow Yeerks. When he got to me, he had as good a smile as you can on a Hork-bajir and he said, " Good job Telek Entak! you have gotten an 88! That's good enough fo a series 8 Dracon beam. Here you are, Entak." He went over to the shipping box mand pulled out a fairly new Dracon beam. He came over to me and handed over the gun. Engraved in it was "SERIES 8 DRACON HAND-HELD BLASTER." I felt power and energy in my hands when I touched it. I knew at that very moment that I would be great.
Later during that month, we learned how to handle a bug fighter, learn basic battle tactics, took several tests, learned computer operation, learned biological science, physics, and other various subjects needed to be a seasoned warrior.
Of course, in that span of time I wanted to be a fighter pilot. We all pretty much wanted to be one. Science and tcnology was boring. The action is in using tecnology, not discovering it.
The day had come for us to step up onto better hosts. While we were in trainig, they dicovered a new species suitable for us to conquer. The were called Maks.
Maks are yellow and green creatures with 0ne eye. They have a long and strong tail that greatly resembles the Andalite filth. There body has two arms and two legs. There are three toes, and each one has a curved and very sharp nail. There are four fingers, and they have no nails. the head is a dome like shape with green triangular eyes. They have a wedged snout and a long forked tounge. They are the ones that have a biological clock that makes them have a war every one thousand years, not the Hork-bajir. Certain Andalites can get confused because of the simalrities in both creatures. Maks have highly intuectual minds. Only the most top ranking Yeerks would get them. I was probably one of them.
I had gotten promotted 12 spaces up for the high scores that I got. I already have a Bug fighter with my name on it. I can't get it until I "graduate." That would be today. The Council of Thirteen was busy calculating everyones scores while I was constantly waiting for them in the Yeeerk pool. A new training session had begun and they needed Gedds, so they took mine and everyone elses when they finished training.
I had recieved message that I was to recieve a new host. No one knew what it would be. I was to report to the infestation pier. I had a feeling that I would not get what I wanted. I would have to deal with that later.
I rushed toward the pier. I was first in line because I was superior to the others. They thrust a massive head into the water. I found the ear canal quite easily. I went through the instinctive process of going through the ear canal. I reached the brain. I felt many more arcs of electricity than a Gedd's. I opened my eyes and saw blades down my elbows and knees and many other places. I knew then that I had power. Not the kind I had expected from a Mak, but the one I knew was there in a Hork-bajir. My trainig ended here. From the moment I entered and controled the brain I had shed the attribute Telek, and added on the honor of my own fighter, the latest series Dracon beam, and a whole lot of blades.
Yeerk Date: Generation 688, beginning-cycle
Earth date: 1971
Now that I was a fighter pilot, I obviously had a Bug fighter. I claimed my fighter Baron. I was assigned the Blade ship of Visser 1 because of my high training scores. Visser 1's ship is called Conquerer.
When I wasn't scouting or doing dogfights and that sort of thing, I was working in my quarters which were considerably larger than my old Telek quarters. I did mainly cybernetic experiments. Since I was a scientist, I was given the proper equipment to do my research. This is where I had my start in creating cybernetic hosts. Cybernetic hosts are a new concept of mine. Virtually indestructible, cybernetic hosts could be used in the place of sentient creatures. Although cybernetics were barely even close to perfect, I knew that it would be the talk of galaxy, a new revolution for our rightful claiming the universe.
I was working in my lab when I got an alert for all fighters in the sector 12 wing report the docking bay. I ran very quickly to my fighter in the docking bay. My wing was organized in a semi-circle. Our tactical officer (T.O.) was in the center. He gave us our mission briefing. He informed us that the ships sensors picked up one of those new Andalite ships called "Dome" ships. The Andalites always have a whole fleet ready inside the ship for military escort purposes.
A Dome ship is one long blue rod with two domes on the top. The domes are much more bigger than the rest of the ship. On one end there are three large cylinders. Those cylinders are the three Z-space engines. On the opposite side, an egg shape bulges slightly out. That is the bridge where the captain and his crew are.
"The Dome Ship is on a course that's heading straight into our territory for an unknown reason. Your mission is fire Dracon missiles at the three main engines. After the engines are destroyed, head for the detached domes. Aim torpedoes at the domes. Do not let the domes escape. Your fighters have been equipped with 30 Raider L-24 Dracon missiles and 20 SD-27 Arkon torpedoes. Once your mission objectives are complete, make a jump Z-space and meet us in sector 34. If something goes wrong, well, just don't screw up. Good luck."
This would be a mission past laughable. This would be so extremely easy, I couldn't bear it. This was a basic mission. It would be so boring. Why couldn't I have a harder mission?
Me and my big mouth.
*********************************************************************************************
As I climbed inside, I found that my gunner was once again Bikdes 2832. He usually flew with me on missions. He was a reliable gunner. Dim witted, but very accurate. He had a Hork-Bajir host similar mine, but less brawny. He was seated just behind me. The seats of my ship where custom designed for my body sit in.We had no need for seat belts because our Bug Fighters are much more well designed for lift-off. We feel no jolt and the gravity is controlled to be very comfortable.
I signaled to the rest of the squadron to take off as I jettisoned us off through the docking bay. I aimed the fighter at the
ship. Only a few moments later, I found one of the most worst nightmares of all fighter pilots.
Suddenly, like the spider vines back home, five other dome ships and at least 20 squadrons of Andalite fighters. And then, The biggest ship I've ever seen in my life up to then, The Andalite Electorate Arrowhead Star Cruiser. The size of five Blade ships. We were ambushed.
There would be no way out of this. We were surrounded. There was only one thing to do, fight to the death.
I ordered my crew to break off and fire at will. We would take as many Andalite filth down with us as we went. I flew in close and struck at every weak point in the Andalite defense. I wreaked havoc on the entire Andalite fleet. I dodged and weaved every attack, but I almost got killed if it wasn't for another gunner who covered me. I must have taken down 20 other fighters. Our many squadrons had been greatly depleted. Our Blade ship was severely damaged. Then, all the enemy
fighters started backing away.
Suddenly, I felt a sudden jolt as my ship started being pulled toward the mother ship. The Star Cruisers tractor beam was pulling in the various other remaining fighters and escape pods. It also pulled into tow
the massive blade ship. As I neared the ship, I remembered an old trick that was very risky, but could make myself get an easy get away. I ordered my gunner to fire three rounds of Arkon missiles at the energy signature of the tractor beam. Of course Bikdes was confused, but he followed my orders anyway. He fired the last three missiles we had and just as I thought, the tractor beam locked on to the new energy source. I immediately jumped to Z-space and reported back to our base on the
Ssstram Home-world.
I was cleared for landing bay 23. As Bikdes and I climbed out, we saw the hideous figure of what could only be one thing, Council Member 13, more commonly known as Akdor the Fearless. He was the one who began our rebirth. He has gotten other hosts since then, his current one being a Ssstram. Ssstram are wirey tall creatures. They have four legs that are long and skinny. The legs go horizontal and than come at a joint about one meter from the starting point. The leg ends in a slightly curved point. The legs are stiff and rigid. From the center of the four legs, a muscular body protrudes out. From that body are four arms, two on each side, and one head. The arms have two lower arms with two hands on each lower arm. The head resembled that of an Earth creature called a wolf. The whole creature is brown gray with fur covering it, except for the legs, which are dark red and hard.
Akdor is a part of the Council of Thirteen. He is in very high authority. When he gets mad, you don't want to see it. "Starpilot Entak 2514 pilot of the Baron I presume. And Gunner Bikedes 2832. What, may I ask happened to the rest of your fleet?"Asked Akdor.
"It - it got destroyed or captured. Many fighters got shot down and the Blade Ship of Visser 1 got captured. I'm not sure if the Visser got captured or if he escaped. That's all I know, sir" I said, trying to hide my fear.
"Well, the Visser got back here safely, but enough of this, I want to know how you got out of that tractor beam. While you're at it, I think that the Council might like to here it. You're the talk of the military. But, enough of this unnecessary small talk, you have a meeting with the Reeben and the Council Members!"
I stood staring at Akdor in shock. To think that I, Entak, was going to see the Reeben!
