Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
National History

The Divine Sisterhood of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority was founded on January 16th, 1920 on the campus of Howard Unversity in Washington, D.C. Our Sisterhood was founded by 5 co-eds: Arizona Leedonia Cleaver Stemmons, Myrtle Tyler Faithful, Viola Tyler Goings, Pearl Anna Neal, and Fannie Pettie Watts. They dared to depart from the traditional coalitions for Black Women and sought to establish a new organization founded on the precepts of Scholarship, Sisterhood, Service, & Finer Womanhood. The trail blazed by the founders has been traversed by thousands of women dedicated to the emulation of the objectives and ideals of the Sorority.
