You can't make someone love you
no matter how much you care.
You can't make them want you
no matter how you despair.
You know life is never easy,
and no one says it's fair,
there is no way you can force them
when your dreams, they do not share.
Like others who are hurting
you'll learn to swallow your pride,
your tears you'll keep hidden,
true emotions you'll fragilely hide.
And then one day you'll notice
that the pain is not so strong
and the hours within each day
does not seem quite so long.
The first steps to healing
even though you wont understand,
(if only his dreams had been different)
but acceptance is close to hand.
