As the sun begins to rise
trumpeting to the world night has passed to day
birds Chorus in it's warming glow to the skies.
Flowers swinging with the breeze
opening their blooms in glory to its brightest rays
stretching and extending awakening leaves.
Children begin play in its dawn,
their laughter of innocence ringing through the air
for laughter as yet, is all they know to share.
But as the golden rays creep around this dim room
my mood deepens to melancholy,
my heart yearns to cry out
"Why must you leave again with the rising of the Sun"
but I will not weaken and beg you to stay
my pride will keep me strong and my lips numb.
I will wait with patience
till this suns sleep does come
for I know that your love is strong enough
to return you to me, when this day is done.
