I was just getting started in the 11th grade when I bought this truck on Sept. 1, 1996. I used it to and from school and work. From '96-the summer of '98 it basically stayed the way it was when I bought it. I never got to do much work on it during that time because as soon as I would get a little bit of work done, I'd have to hurry up and put it all back together so that I could drive it where I needed to go. During the summer of '98 I was able to part it for about a week so that I could take apart the whole interior and paint it. Then, from the summer of '98 until Jan. '00 it stayed the same once again due to work and school. In Jan. '00 I painted it primer black because the blue paint covers over black better than gray. During spring of '00 I found a used hood that was in great shape (besides all the layers of paint) and only paid $40 for it! In May of 2000 I bought my mom's 1994 Honda Accord which enabled me to park my truck and leave it parked until I was finished. So it has been parked since then and I have been partially restoring it on the weekends and in my spare time.
Information About My Truck

Interior:
The truck has a rare '67-'72 tilt steering column but I'm not postive that it is original to the truck. I can see that the truck once had a manual transmission (torched off clutch petal). Unless someone changed out the transmission hump in the floor, then I believe that the truck once had a column shift. When they converted it to an automatic trans, they probably switched columns.

Body:
When I run the VIN number on the truck, I have come to fin out that my truck was originally a stepside. I have no clue wy someone switched out the bed other than... maybe they just liked the fleetside better??

Running Gear:
Here's where the fun begins! The number on my block are 3782870. Everytime I look this number up, I get a different list of years; sometimes it's '64-'67 and someimes it's '62-'67. Anyways, it's a 327 ci 2-bolt main, bored .030 over, has TRW forged pistons, high volume oil pump, matching camel hump (double hump) heads, 289 cam, high rise Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, 750 Quadra-Jet 4BBL carb, GM HEI distributor w/ advance curve kit, Accell supercoil, Accell 8.8mm plug wires, Edelbrock Elite Series tall valve covers and air cleaner, and is breathing through a 14" wide by 6" tall K&N air filter. Mounted on the inner fender is a fuel regulator with gauge. The transmission is a heavy duty Turbo 350 3-speed automatic. The truck is running on a 12-bolt rearend but I'm not sure what gears are inside. All I know is, it has a lot of "get-up-and-go" off the line!
