The Battle

An Articuno flies out of its PokeBall. It screeches madly as a Flareon challenges it. The Articuno makes its first move. Blizzard. A thick mist of snow blows from Articuno's mouth. The Flareon gets surrounded by the freezing snow.

The Flareon growls and send out a firespin. The flame quickly melts the ice. The melted ice turns to water and douses the Flareon. The Articuno laughs as it taunts the Flareon. The Eeveelution charges the Articuno in a Take Down, but the bird flies up into the air. The Flareon slams down on hard ground. It looks into the sky and sees a tiny dot.

The dot suddenly gets larger as it descends upon the Flareon. Then, out of nowhere, the Articuno slams into the Flareon at hyper speed. The Flareon is thrown back into an opposing wall. It weakly stands up and lets out an immense flamethrower. The Articuno is engulfed in the fire and screeches.

What will happen next? You decide in the world of PokeMon Stadium. The game was released on March 8, 2000, and ever since, heated battles have been going on in every pokéfan's household.

Pokémon stadium takes place in full 3-D, which produces spectacualr graphics as the Pokémon duke it out in awesome battles. I got the game when it came out, and it's a very good game.

Pokémon Stadium is better when you know exactly what's going on. It's better not to get it if you don't know much about Pokémon, and you're new to the Pocket Monster world.

I think of Stadium more as a useful tool than as an actual game. The doduo and dodrio game boy towers really help when you want to make an unbeatable team of Pokémon. The doduo allows you to play your red/blue/yellow version twice as fast as on normal Game Boy, and the Dodrio Tower lets you play three times as fast!

Getting the doduo and dodrio twoer's aren't the easiest task. To get the Doduo Tower, you must beat all four "balls" in either the Prime cup or Poké cup. And to get the dodrio tower, you must then beat all four balls in the other Cup. (i.e. if you;ve gotten the doduo tower by beating the prime cup, you must now beat the Poké cup to get the dodrio tower.)

A Particularly cool attribut of the game is the 3-D Pokédex. I think it's cool to be able to see all the Pokémon in full 3-D, from all angles. There's new information, too.

If the Battling life gets too rough, you can take a brake at the Kids Corner and play a few minigames! The minigames aren't too hard overall, but they're cute, and fun to play once in a while for the heck of it.

All in all, Pokémon Stadium's a really cool game for the seasoned Pokémon Trainer. On a rating's scale of 1 to 10, I give stadium a 7.9
