The three Ledgendary Birds, Ancient Mew, and... a brand-spanking New Jumbo card featuring the three Ledgendary birds! Just like In japan, there is a jumbo card sporting Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos. Just like the Jumbo Pikachu, it's extra big, about five times larger than a normal PokéMon Card! But where do you get it? Nope, it's not from the League, it's not from a Magazine, but it's from....

Ancient Mew Has Arrived!

July 21st was opening night of the Second PokéMon movie, heralding four new PokéMon Cards! During the first week, a special, double-sided holofoil card called "Ancient Mew" is to be given away! The card is wirtten in cryptic code, and to solve what Ancient Mew does, you have to be part of the PokéMon League!

Well, if you're just lazy, haven't seen the movie, or you're not part of the PokéMon League, then Don't fret! Below you see a Picture of CoolBird7's Ancient Mew, plus a filled-out card of what Ancient Mew does! Wait no longer! It has been revealed what Ancient Mew can do!

Neo 2 Set Coming Soon!

A brand-spanking new promo card has been released with the latest issue of CoroCoro Comics. It is a Hassamu, Scyther's steel-type evolved form. But, the major difference is that even though Hassamu is a new PokéMon, it's not part of the Neo set!

Nope, Hassamu is the very first Neo 2 card! Sporting a new set symbol, which looks somewhat like an aztec building, the set has some of the PokéMon that weren't included in the original Neo set!

No speculation or info on how many and which cards will be in the new set at press time, but please visit here soon to find out more info about the Neo 2 Set!.

Gold/Silver U.S. Announcments!

On May 9, 2000, Mr. Ishihara, the creator of The PokéMon TCG, announced several new PokéMon names at a children's PokéMon Press Conference. The Gold and Silver versions of PokéMon should be released on October 16, 2000, sporting 100 new PokéMon characters! Ho-Oh , Lugia , Chikorita , Cyndaquil and Totodile were greeted with wild applause. The new versions of PokéMon are predicted to be huge hits in the U.S., and about 10 million copies of the game should be sold within the first six months.

Base and Jungle Sets No More!

Don't you remember you very first pack of cards? yeah, that venusaur base pack in which you got your very first holo in... Well, time to get down to business and stop dreaming. The Base set and Jungle Set of cards are out of print! No more! Poof! They're gone! These two sets are now replaced by Base Set Two!

This means that many Jungle holos such as Kangaskhan and Snorlax will never again be produced! Try to complete the two sets before all the boosters burn out, because they are sure to rise in value as demands for the discontinued cards increase. As you can see from the lists below, the two sets are, in fact, OFFICIALLY DISCONTINUED!!! (By the way, that's a scan of my list, that's why you see pencil marks and creases all over it).

The two sets are going quickly, so get your stock of boosters while they're still around.

Team Rocket Cards taking U.S. by Storm

The new set of PokéMon cards is taking the U.S. by storm. with only 14 days until the set's release, many collecotrs and players alike are anxious. The main question of the new set is: what will the new holos be like? will they be like japanese holos, as in base set 2, or will they be like the standard U.S. holo? Only time will tell, but with two weeks left, who can wait?

The only information at press time was that the "evil" PokéMon such as the charizard TR holo, will not be called "Bad" Pokémon. Instead, they will be "dark" PokéMon. Unavailable at the time, a large model of the U.S. DarkCharizard was seen by CoolBird at a Wizards of the Coast store. Its first attack was called Nail Flick, but the second one has been forgotten.

April 24 is the day when Team Rocket's wrath will be unleached upon America. Stay tuned for exclusive info on the set coming soon.

PokéMon Card Game has Arrived!

The PokéMoncard Game for Game Boy color has arrived! There is a holofoil card that comes with the game, which turns out to be a meowth. It has one attack, called "Cat Punch", which doesn't do a specific amount of damage until a coin if flipped. The foil backing is green, and it is in Japanese format. (confused? what I mean by "japanese format" is that the foil has spots on it, like japanese holos.).

The card game is very close to the actual thing, and you are able to win booster packs and duel like in real life. There are also several cards in the game that are exclusive to the game itself, and are not available as real cards. Soe of those cards are: Pidgeot, Jolteon, Tangela, and Ditto, to name a few.

If you buy the official Nintenco Player's guide, you will also receive an exclusive holfoil venusaur that is a promo! Exciting, huh?

Nintendo Tour brings new Badges!

Recently, Nintendo of America sponsored a cross-country PokéMon Stadium tour, in which you could battle and receive MEW, the 151st Pokémon. Thousands of people stood in line for hourse just to receieve their free Mews. You could also compete in Game Boy Pika, Poké, and Prime cups, in which special PokéMon badges were given away. You could even challenge Nintendo Master trainers on PokéMon stadium.

Other activities included testing out the PokéMon Card Game Boy game, Playing PokéMon stadium, trading cards, and fighting in a private Game Boy duel with your buddies.

Many Free items were given away, as well, such as posters and comic books, not to mention stickers.

Base 2 Cards Different from any other!

Just Discovered-- Base 2 holos are unique! They are far different than any other holo cards offered in other sets! The difference? It's in the foil. Any normal or previous holo card preceding Base Set Two had stars that were visible when you turned the card a certain way. Well, not anymore. Base 2 has intorduce a new type of holo card. The spot holo! These holos are much like Japanese holo card, with different-sized dots covering the foil, instead of the usual stars. After this stunning revelation, one question remains unanswered... Will the Team Rocket American holos be like this? We will all soon find out.

This is a scan of my Venusaur.

Promo Mew Card Released!

After waiting in anticipation for several months, avid PokeMon fans can finally get their hands on a Mew card.

The card was originally supposed to be part of the Fossil expansion set, but Wizards left it out of the card set and changed it into a promotional card.

But this card was not to be released as a Promo for the Pokemon Movie. A card slipped into the Movie Card Promo pack said that the Mew card would be available only through the Pokemon League on January 8, 2000. Well, the day has come, and many have joined to the Pokemon League to receive this special promo card of the rare, 151st Pokemon.

The card is exactly the same as the Fossil Mew, except for the image. It is not a holofoil, and has a promo star by its stats. The attacks are Psywave and Devolution Beam, exactly the same attacks as the Fossil Mew. It's HP and level are identical, as well.

Those who were part of the PokeMon League should have received this promo, as well.

Burger King PokeBall Recall

Recently a young 13-month old child has died because of suffocation on a PokeBall from Burger King. The balls, which are about 3" in diamter sould pose no choking hazard at all, for they are too big to fit in the mouth of an average child.

It seems that the red part of the ball somehow got itself onto the baby's face. Then it latched onto the baby's chin, closing off its mouth and nose. Thus, suffocating the child.

If you have one of these balls, you can take it to your local Burger King in exchange for a free order of small fries.

New Set Of PokeMon Cards To Be Released In Japan!

Recently, Japan received two new Pokemon games. Pokemon Gold Version, and Pokemon Silver Version. Each game featured 100 new Pokemon, along with the original 151 Monsters. Now, in February, a new set of cards will come out, called "Pokemon Neo". The Neo cards will feature the 100 new Pocket Monsters from the Gold/Silver versions.

Several Promo sets have been released prior to the official release of the cards. Some of those sets have reached American shores, as well, but they are very scarce and valuable here. Two of the most sought-after Neo Promo cards are the Evil Energy and Yamikarasu the Crow, that came along with Pocket Monster Card Trainers Magazine in Japan.

Other Promo sets include the 9-card set of the three starting Pokemon and their evolved forms, and the "Upa" card that was available with some CoroCoro comic books.
