PokéMon cards are now available on Game Boy! The new game boy game was released on April 10th, and came with a free holo Meowth card! I Got the game the 11th, and I have some stuff and tips for this game to help you out.
When you start the game, you play a practice duel, then you are able to choose one of three starting decks: Charmander & Friends, Squirtle & Friends, and Bulbasaur & Friends. You can choose any deck you want, but Bulbasaur & friends is the most focused, so I reccomend using that. Besides, I've tampered with mine a little, and it's extremely formidable.
In The card Game, the main priority is to inherit the ledgendary PokéMon Cards. There are four cards, and they are special versions of Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Dragonite. So, to get to fight the four elit card masters, you go around card clubs and fight the club masters to earn medals.
There are eight clubs in all, and each club focuses on a specific card type.A list of Clubs here as follows
Rock Club -- This Club focuses on rock PokéMon Such as Onix and cubone. Try a Water/Grass deck.
Lightning club -- A Club that likes to use electric PokéMon such as Pikachu and Raichu. The club master likes to use PokéMon with selfdestruct, so be careful. A Fighting/Colorless deck should make your day, although I used a fighting/Electric deck and I won pretty easily.
Fighting Club -- A club that uses Pokémon like machop and Mankey. Try using a psychic deck that has the Spearow and Pidgey evolutions in it.
Psychic club -- a Club with Psychic-type monsters. use a psychic/Colorless deck to win.
Fire Club -- A Club which uses Fire Pokémon. The Gym leader uses chansey a lot. Have a water/fighting deck handy. Articuno is an awesome PokéMon in this club.
Science Club -- this place uses lots of differents monsters. Use the Abra and gastly evolutions, as well as electrics to win.
Grass Club -- Use a Water/Fire deck. The fire PokéMon will take out the grass monsters, and the water PokéMon will take out the fire monsters, which are both common in decks at the grass club.
Water Club -- A Lightning/Fighting deck will help take out those pesly water-types, and help you against Amanda.
Along the way, you may encounter a really strange guy named IMAKUNI?. Challenge him to a six-prize duel. He's really easy to beat, since he usually confuses his own PokéMon, and uses the same stuff every time. Beat him and get four boosters.
The really good thing about the Game Boy TCG is that you can get lots and lots of cards. This way you can build lots and lots of decks. But building an Ideal deck isn't particularly easy. Try building these two deck i've built on the Game Boy and see how they fare. They're particularly good when i duel with them.
Description: The objective of this deck is to get rid of your opponent fast. You will either get an Articuno or an eevee in your hand (most likely). Articuno is very powerful, and can hurt benched Monsters, as well. Eevee's vaporeon evolution is like another scyther, and can do 60 damage in 2 turns, knocking out most PokéMon. Chansey can stall pretty nicely, as well.
Description: This deck focuses on speed and destroying your opponent's PokéMon. It uses 2 Ledgendary PokéMon cards, and if you don't have them, you can substitue the ledgendary dragonite with a normal one, and put in another Dratini or super potion instead of the moltres. I used a slight variation of this deck (I substituded for the two ledgendary cards, that's all), to win the final battle against Ronald for the ledgendary cards. Yes, it's a very good deck, because Ronald is ususally a pain in the butt to fight, because he has strong PokéMon, not to mention a fast deck. This deck gives the kid a taste of his own medicine, Dragonair being the real catch of the day.
The grand masters are the last 4 people you need to battle to win. I've beaten the PokéMon TCG in about 2 weeks. But it was very fun, and I'm still playing. Anyways, fighting the grand masters was a pain in the butt until I fought some of the people several times over and modified my decks perfectly for the grand master I was battling. A very useful tip is to always select your deck after you beat a grand master. While you select a deck, the main menu comes up and you can go to your diary. SAVE EVERY TIME YOU BEAT A GRAND MASTER! If you lose, turn off the game and start off from where you saved in the dairy. This way you won't have to start all over.
Courtney--She's The fire queen that owns the ledgendary Moltres card. She's a toughie, and it took me a while to finally beat her. Try my "Ice Wave" deck to beat her. Substitute the ledgendary articuno with a fossil one. Try getting rid of her growlithes, because when they evolve, they're a pain in the butt.
Steve --He's the Thunder grand master, and he's a little easier than courtney. His problem is Zapdos's Big Thunder attack, which can often hit monsters on Steve's Play area. Try to hope for the best of luck, and use a Fighting/Colorless deck that has monsters like Hitmonchan for the weaker guys, and something like a Dragonair for the ledgendary zapdos.
Jack --The Ice-man isn't very hard to beat at all. Just pack a deck with 2 Jungle Pikachu, a lvl.16 promo Pikachu, a Base Pikachu, and a Flying Pikachu. Throw in a Surfing Pikachu if your deck uses water PokéMon such as Articuno, which I kind of reccomend. Be sure to put a fossil Zapdos, an electabuzz or two, and 2 base Raichus along with 2 fossil ones.
Rod --The leader of the Grand Masters is easy to beat if you take out all of his dratinis at an early stage. Try not to make the battle too long, or it'll get hard. Try using the same elctric deck you used with Jack. Those Raichu are very handy.
Ronald -- This guy is one major pain in the kiester. You will have one heck of a time battling him unless you use my "Fast Blast" deck. When using my deck, try to get a Dragonair before Ronald does, and you should be home free. When I used my Fast Blast deck after many tries with the other decks I made, Dragonair was all I needed. I kept getting rid of all his energies with Hyper Beam, and I slammed the weaker Monsters or to finish off the big ones.
Just because you've beaten the Grand masters and have gotten the ledgendary PokéMon cards doesn't mean you're over yet. You can still challenge everyone to a rematch, and the challenge cups will be going underway from time to time. Isihara may want to trade some more rare cards. Explore! Build powerful and unstoppable decks! The PokéMon TCG never ends!
I Hope that these two decks, and the tips above will help you on your journey for inheriting the ledgendary PokéMon cards. May the luck be with you!
