It was midsummer as the PokeCup tournament was about to commence. The announcer was lounging in his chair, watching the two trainers in the field choose their PokéMon.
As both the trainers held up a PokéBall each, the announcer rose to his feet, yelling into the microphone, his voice echoing around the arena several times.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Pokemon trainers abound! Our two combatants have each chosen their Pokemon for the first battle! Let's see what kind of rarities each of these skilled trainers hold within the balls in their hands!"
The young girl with a purple ultra ball put her forehead upon the sphere, reciting a verse, while the male trainer who was opposing her tossed his Friend Ball in the air. A bell rang, and the trainers released their pokemon.
The girl's ultra ball revealed a very strange creature. It was one of a kind as was known so far. The beast looked somewhat dog-like, but cat-like at the same time. It had blue, shining fur with creamy diamonds on its sides and its legs. Large crystals on its head held the flowing violet fur in place as it twin white tails waved in the wind.
The boy's friend ball showed off a large seven-foot tal dragon-like creature with small, turquiose wings which it flapped slightly to stay aloft. It was a dragonite.
Both Pokémon were evenly matched, both fighting fit and very powerful. The dog-like creature went first, growling and bristling its fur as it let out an intense blizzard from its gaping maw. The frost-bitten air reached the dragonite, surrounding it. But this wasn't any normal dragonite. It had been trained to withstand ice attacks.
The Suicune leaped back expertly as the dragonite bellowed at it. A light came from the large Pokémon's horn, growing larger by the second. The light turned into a large beam, which blasted through the air, slamming into the Suicune with intense force. The beast's trainer ushered it on ro keep fighting, even after the powerful force.
The Hyper Beam had left the Dragonite tired. It needed to Recharge. This gave time for the Suicune to attack once again. As Suicune barked at the dragon, a glow emenated from its body, surrounding it. The suicune didn't attack that turn. It just stood its ground, the glow turning into a silvery glow which looked like metal.
Now that the dragonite had recharged, it could attack once again. The glow once again came from its horn and slammed painfully into the Suicune, drastically lowering its HP to a very low status. But the Suicune sustained, and now the shiny substance surrounding it began turning towards the dragonite, escaping Suicune's body. The dog was using Mirror Coat, an attack that would double the enemy's special and attack it.
Now the energy from Suicune slowed into a ball over the Pokemon's head. In an instant, it flew into the dragonite, knocking it senseless on the ground.
The Suicune had won! It had been a very exciting battle, considering that dragons were weak to the ice-type move that Suicune knew. The aurora's trainer ran down and hugged it affectionately before allowing it back into its purple Ultra Ball.
