Poorly Coded Web Page

1. Use ftp software to connect to the WebCity server (webcity.arc.losrios.cc.ca.us)
   Mac: Fetch; PC: WS_FTP or CuteFTP
   
   
2. Establish an anonymous FTP connection:
   
   
   1. Start a new FTP connection (file menu of Fetch)
      
      
   2. host: webcity.arc.losrios.cc.ca.us
      userid: (leave blank for anonymous ftp)
      password: (enter your e-mail address for anonymous ftp)
      directory: pub (pub is the default directory; leave it)
      
      
3. Download the following file:
   
        badcode.html
   
   Save the file to the Temp directory.
   
   
4. Close your anonymous FTP connection.
   
   
5. Edit the downloaded file using the tag editor Arachnophilia or BBEdit. Follow the procedures shown in class.
   
   
6. Establish an FTP connection to your individual account on the server.
   
   
   1. Start a new FTP connection (file menu of Fetch)
      
      
   2. host: webcity.arc.losrios.cc.ca.us
      userid: (same as before: first six letters of last name, first initial)
      password: 123456
      directory: (leave blank)
      
      
   3. Double-click to open your "public_html" directory.
      
      
7. Upload the following file:
   
        badcode.html
   
   (Make sure you upload as "Raw Data".)
   
   
8. To view your web page, open a browser and type in the following URL:
   
        http://webcity.arc.losrios.cc.ca.us/~login/badcode.html
