
Darrell graduated JSU with a degree in Engineering in 2001. He was
born a raised in Ingelwood, CA. He attended Ingelwood High School.
While in high school, he was Section Leader and Drum Major. He was also
in All-District and All-State Bands. He graduated there near the top of
his class in 1995. He came to Jackson State University after graduation
on an academic and band scholarship. When he was a "crab" in the marching
band, his freshman year he played "3rd Trombone." In 1998, he was named
Head Section Leader. Darrell is a talented musician he plays Trombone and
Bass Clarinet. At JSU, Darrell participated in numerous performing
ensembles such as: Symphonic Band, Jazz Band I, Jazz Band II, Trombone
Choir, Brasswind Ensemble, Trombone Quartet, and Marching Band. Darrell
also is a member of the Alpha Beta Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity,
Inc., Student government, and Amos A Tyler Masonic Lodge.
