EPILOGUE

Vhund held his eyes closed, trying his hardest to block out the pain
from his master’s shadow deathlock. He floated five feet off the ground – enough
for him to feel the searing anger as it fell upon his face.
“You…ran?” His master asked, incredulously.
“The general of my Grand Army? He ran? HE RAN!”
The deathlock’s energy arced,
lancing into his limbs. Vhund groaned as the pain intensified. “Master…Forgive…”
“SILENCE!” His master’s voice
rumbled. Prima, Iaxious
and MacPherson cringed, the cowardly MacPherson taking a step back. “You
ran from your enemies! You failed in
your mission and, thusly, you failed me!”
Vhund chanced to open his eyes
and fear gripped the general’s heart.
The crimson energies that burned in his master’s soul was
reflected through his eyes: a fiery power that would consume him at his
master’s behest.
“You
have all failed me! A simple enough matter: conquer the world,
and you can’t even do that! Now, you have empowered those wretched Power
Rangers, making the conquest of this dimension that much more difficult!”
The dark figure dropped Vhund. “I
must prepare for our next assault.
Regardless of your cowardice,
we shall chalk this minor setback up to a fluke.” He turned and looked at
the quivering human. “MacPherson, is the device intact and
undetected?”
MacPherson nodded. “Yes, master.”
The master nodded in return. “Good. Once we have dealt with these…eXtreme Power Rangers, we shall activate the
device, bringing this world to its knees.
Let nothing stand in our
way! Let nothing stop the oncoming darkness!
LET NOTHING STOP THE POWER OF DOCOR RUZAN!”

The teleport beam deposited the Rangers to the applause of
Sean and Angela.
“Nicely done, Rangers,” Angela said, beaming proudly at the success of her technology.
The team reached over to a small button on their helmets
nearest their ear. The visor disappeared
before the helmet segmented into horizontal lines and pulled away from the
front to the back. The segments seemed
to fold into a molded metallic circle, mounted on a wireframe.
Maya had the biggest smile out of them all. She was excited as she ran over and held the
hands of Angela. “It was totally morphenomenal! I’ve never felt such excitement!”
“I must
say,” Sabrina began, walking towards Sean, “that these powers are very…interesting. I can’t quite put into words how they make me
feel.”
“How about…’good’?” Sean offered,
smiling.
Sabrina looked at him for a moment before offering a nod.
Jason said, “I could seriously get used to this,” and flexed his muscles inside the latex-like tunic.
“A good start, Rangers,” Sean said, his smile fading away.
“Now that they have had a taste of our
power, they will increase their attacks.
It is only going to get more difficult from here on out.”
“It’s
okay,” Ashley supplied. “We’ll be ready.”
“For we
are Power Rangers,” Billy added.
And, in unison, the Rangers held up their fists, reaffirming
their oath to the Power. “…TO
THE EXTREME!”
