Blightwater Blue Ranger attacked at least three Omegas at a time. Like his namesake, Billy used forceful kicks like powerful waves of water to blight out the creatures.
Nightstar Black Ranger ran straight into a group of OmegaPutties. Before they even had a chance to regroup, Adam was already throwing Putties around and cracking their protective shells which held them together.
All was going well for Earthscorch Pink Ranger as she took the Putties to town. Most of them were beginning to pile up in heaps as she laid them out. Underneath her facial samurai mask, Kimberly smiled, feeling a great deal happiness in taking out these Putties.
An OmegaPutty was stupid enough to run into the awaiting outstretched foot of Firesmite Red Ranger. Rocky's kicks had been lethal to all the OmegaPutties since his kicks were augmented by the armor he now wore. Another kick, another Putty.
With the power of a star at his command, Starstorm White Ranger thrust a fist into the face of his enemy. The crunch of whatever it was behind that face was heard. It fell but more rushed to replace their fallen comrade. Tommy jumped, his jumping power increased by his armor, and delivered a double thrust kick to the onrushing horde. They fell on top of each other, yet more came forward. No matter. He would take them out too.
Everyone seemed to be having a good time, except for Windbane Yellow Ranger. Aisha was taking out her frustration on the advancing masses. She should not have left Sean alone. She could have easily have contacted the other Rangers from her communicator, regardless if Sean was beside her or not. Windbane Yellow Ranger kicked a thrust kick to another advancing Omega. Deep within her heart, she hoped that Sean would be all right.
"Are you guys all right?!" Starstorm White Ranger yelled.
"Yeah!" Firesmite Red Ranger returned, "But I'm getting tired of playing with these guys!"
A general nod of agreement from the rest of the Rangers, and Tommy knew what needed to be done.
"Okay. It's time for NinjaTech Powercharges!" The leader of the Rangers exclaimed.
"Is the order given?!" Blightwater Blue Ranger asked.
"The order is given!"
Nightstar Black Ranger was the first to use his Powercharge.
"I think you guys need a lesson! Don't mess with the Power Rangers! Nightmare Energy Blast!"
At the command, a large dark bolt of energy issued forth from his gauntlets. It cut through the masses and destroyed a large number of Omegas.
"Wow!" was all the reply Adam gave.
By cue, Earthscorch Pink Ranger jumped in front of the Rangers.
"Now it's time to rock and roll! Earthcrusher Power Punch!"
Kimberly dropped to her knees and punched the ground. The pressure from her punch was magnified so much that the ground split open. It swallowed up another significant portion of the Omegas. The Omegas began to look, if one could call it that, like they were...scared.
Blightwater Blue Ranger stepped up.
"Now it is time to feel the power of the Blightwater Tidal Blast."
An azure-colored force wave was conjured up by Billy and it moved with the speed of the ocean. Another contingency of Omegas got caught within the Blast, and they were destroyed by the massive pressures produced similar to the crushing pressures of the sea.
"Intriguing," Billy said.
Firesmite Red Ranger clamped his hands together. They were so tight they started to vibrate.
"Firesmite Heat Charge!"
One huge fiery ball of energy shot forth from his armor and consumed Omegas. In a few seconds, there was little more than ash left.
Windbane Yellow Ranger was one who could not wait to use her power on these creatures. She clasped her hands together, fingers interlocked in a reverse manner. Her two index fingers shot up to form a triangle. From the depths of her mind, she saw Sean. Her anger increased. She released it in one swift move.
"For Sean. Windbane Thunderbolt!"
The air seemed to charge instantly around her body. Tiny flicks of energy danced about her armor as that same armor built its charge up. The energy combined, releasing itself in a huge lightning bolt that cut through the warm air and struck the OmegaPutties. The remaining portion, ten or so Putties, was cut by two-thirds as the lightning hit. Aisha stood tall, satisfied at the results. No more Putties, no more trouble for the world.
Starstorm White Ranger, impressed at the good job the Rangers did, stepped forward. He outstretched his arms and shouted, "Starstorm Energy Shower!"
White energy, streaking from his own armor, shot straight into the air. There it coalesced and rain downed on the last few Omegas. Under the firepower of the Shower, they could not stand a chance.
A general whoop of joy went up among the Rangers. Clapping each other on the back, they congratulated each other on a job well done. Tommy turned and stared into the sky.
"Take that to the bank, Zedd," he said, "Ha, you won't get rid of us that easily!"
Lord Zedd, observing from his portal, slammed his fist into the railing. Energy crackled around the silver staff he clutched tightly.
"I hate the Power Rangers! I knew that old fool Zordon and Ninjor would pull something like this!" Zedd screamed. "Where are those monsters?! They should've destroyed the Command Center by now!"
"Master," Goldar said, "I've just received a private communication from Scorpina. It seems that the monsters are disobeying your orders and attacking her. They plan to destroy Angel Grove, not the Command Center!"
Zedd slammed his fist down as he confirmed Goldar's story. His long range sight gave him an up-close view of situations on earth. There he saw Scorpina fighting Firebrand and Bombardier, and they seemed to be winning.
"Goldar! Get down there and set them straight!" Zedd yelled.
"At once," Goldar said, as he took flight and left for earth.
"Zedd, I can't find that Sean Morissette anywhere!" Rita exclaimed, looking up from her telescope "Where could he be?"
Zedd looked at her. "Where else, my love, but the Command Center. There he is learning the secrets of why he was chosen by Zordon to become..."
Both fell silent as the realization of the situation kicked in. Zedd sat in his throne while Rita sat on the arm, quietly patting him.
"You will pay for that, Goldie!"
"Not likely, lackey," and with that a chartreuse beam issued forth from his sword, knocking the charge into a ravine where it exploded harmlessly.
Firebrand, keeping busy against Scorpina, stopped in his tracks. He looked over the massive figure of Goldar, figuring that with a good bolt of heat he could take him out. Unknown to him, Scorpina had taken his distraction to take him down to his knees.
"You will pay dearly for thisss, SSScorpina!" Firebrand exclaimed. "I do not forget sssuch thingsss easssily!"
"Do tell," Scorpina laughed.
"Enough!" Goldar interrupted, "By order of Lord Zedd, you and Bombardier are to attack the Command Center of the Power Rangers."
"We would rather dessstroy thisss puny city with itsss puny human population," Firebrand hissed.
"No!" Goldar exclaimed, "You will go and attack the Command Center. That is a direct order!"
"No one orders us around, Goldie!" Bombardier exclaimed angrily.
"You will obey Lord Zedd or be erased from MonsterMaker’s memory banks!"
"We’ll never go back there again!" Firebrand screamed. "Never again will we be ssstored in the missserable void that is MonsssterMaker! Never!"
With his last screech, Firebrand started to grow alongisde Bombardier. Goldar and Scorpina watched in amazement as they grew to a startling height of twelve stories.
"Now what are you to do, Goldar?" Bombardier boomed.
"Tell Lord Zedd that when we conquer thisss puny planet, we'll make him pay for what he’sss done," Firebrand added.
The two monsters headed off in opposite directions, preparing to wreak havoc on the citizens of Angel Grove. Goldar and Scorpina looked at each other, contemplating the destructive force capable of these two. They both teleported back to the castle with the bad news to report to Zedd.
The Rangers dematerialized from the battleground, heading along the ethereal lines of the Morphing Grid to their Command Center. Within her own teleportation beam, Aisha felt a sense of pain. Although Ninjor and Zordon were wise, would they be able to help Sean? What if he... She removed the thoughts from her head. If she kept thinking like that, she would not be able to help the others. To be a burden to the team was something that she did not want to become.
Teleporting into the same place they stood a few minutes ago, the NinjaTech Battle Rangers removed their helmets and set them down on the command panels. To their surprise and concern, Sean was gone from his bed.
"Rangers, you did an excellent job against this new threat," Zordon said, "Your armor will serve you well in the future."
"Where's Sean, Zordon?" Aisha asked.
"He is being taken care of by Ninjor and Alpha. I have a very important announcement to make. Please observe the viewing globe."
The group turned to the shimmering opaque globe that had served them through many battles. Within it, they saw swirls of energy coming together to form pictures. Like a narrative, Zordon explained the images on the globe. Images of a large green planet and multicolored humanoid lifeforms.
"Three thousand years ago, in a distant corner of the Andromeda Galaxy, a planet named Hykrania was a great source of commerce to the peoples of its system. For millennia, Hykranians traded peacefully with other planets in other solar systems. They were a kind and gentle folk, without a care in the universe. They caused no trouble with any of their neighbors and vice versa. Hykrania did not even have an army, because they believed in peaceful coexistence with everyone. It was all brought to an end on this same day, three thousand years ago.
"Lord Zedd attacked the planet, eager to get his hands on the mineral and energy wealth of Hykrania. The world could not withstand the awesome might of Serpenterra, nor could its citizens handle the Putty Patrol. It was only through my intervention and a team like yours that allowed Hykrania to survive.
"Zedd was not happy. He placed a curse on one of the women of Hykrania, saying that in nine generations, a child will be brought forth that will rule by his side and destroy his home planet. Once again, I intervened, turning the curse into a unique blessing. The child would not rule beside his side, but it would destroy him and bring his authority to an end. I placed the woman on Earth for better protection, but during a battle with an ectomorphic creature, we lost track of her.
"It was foretold within the Eight Prophecies of Eltare that the 'warriors of good and peace' will need 'a champion strong and true with a heart of gold.' Nine generations have passed and the man with the curse of Zedd within his body is..."
With that, a panel on the floor opened up, flooding the room with a warm golden light. The Rangers shielded their eyes from the blinding light, not knowing what to expect. Tommy recalled how he had made his entrance as the White Ranger to the Power Rangers, sans Aisha, Adam, and Rocky.
Enveloped within the light, three figures came up on a moving platform. The forms of Ninjor and Alpha were unmistakable, but the one in the middle, was vaguely recognizable.
"Sean?" Aisha asked.
The figure moved forward. He was clothed in a loose fitting gold and black jumpsuit with a long flowing hooded cloak. At his side was a Blade Blaster, and his features were hidden behind the hood on his cloak. When Aisha asked the question, he pulled the hood down to surprise a group of Rangers.
"Who else?!" Sean said with a smile.
Aisha, overjoyed, ran up and hugged him. The other Rangers went over to shake his hand, surprised to see him.
"What does this mean, Zordon?" Tommy asked.
"It means that the time has come for a new Ranger," Zordon said.
"I am to become the Gold Ranger," Sean said.
"How?" Rocky asked.
"There are no other Power Coins in the universe. The prophecy said that within each of the members of the Power Rangers lies the ability to create the Gold Ranger's Power Coin."
"How?" Rocky repeated.
Ninjor stepped up to explain. "You all derived your powers from the ancient strength of Earth's dinosaurs. When the ThunderZords were destroyed, so were those powers, but not the essences of those creatures. With the essences, you will be able to forge a new Coin."
"However," Zordon interjected, "the power will be locked within the Power Coin; therefore, he will have to travel to Hykrania to retrieve a power source necessary to the activation of his own powers and Zord."
"What are his powers?" Billy asked.
"The Gold Ranger is designed to be the major firepower for the Rangers. He will have a greater amount of power than any of you, combined. On Hykrania, the source of power is the mystic Hammer of Hykrania, a weapon made of a special metal called uru which collects cosmic rays and refocuses them into energy. When the last vestiges of the dinosaurs leave your body, you will also give up the right to call upon the Sword of Power. He will wield that as well. His strength will be increased by a factor of ten with the Belt of Strength, once worn by the greatest warrior of Eltare. The Zord he will pilot will be Thundarus, the Golden Rhino, a Zord of awesome might and ability. With these gifts, he will be unstoppable and Zedd will not be able to withstand against you all."
"Wow!" Aisha said.
"This is great!" Tommy said. "We'll finally be rid of Zedd, and we can focus on other villains out there!"
"Yeah. This is so exciting! No way Zedd is getting out of this!" Kimberly said.
All of a sudden, the room was filled with the high-pitched sound of the alert. Alpha was quick to get to the console and started to type.
"Ay-yi-yi! Two monsters are attacking the city! Scans indicate they were created by means other than the Monster-a-Matic or nonliving things!"
"Which means that Mistress MonsterMaker has been reactivated," Zordon said.
"Who is Mistress MonsterMaker?" Adam asked.
"A device used by Zedd to create more powerful monsters than in the past. I knew that he had to reactivate it on this day. Rangers, get in a circle and prepare to forge the Gold Ranger's Power Coin. Sean, get in the center and hold out your hand. I will infuse you with some of my own energy. Ninjor will add as well."
The Rangers formed a circle around the figure of Sean. Placing one hand behind their backs, they placed their hands on top of Sean’s outstretched hand. He closed his eyes, preparing to receive the coin.
"Tommy, since you were the Green Ranger, you will need to call upon the essence of the DragonZord as well as the essence of the TigerZord," Zordon said.
Tommy nodded. "We call upon the power of all those combined! DragonZord!"
"Mastodon!"
"Pterodactyl!"
"Triceratops!"
"Sabre-Toothed Tiger!"
"Tyrannosaurus!"
And Tommy closed it out with, "TigerZord!"
Their hands glowed with their respective hues. It formed into a bubble of energy and engulfed Sean’s hand. A bolt of pure cosmic energy shot forth from Zordon, cascading into the joined forces of their energies. That blast was met by a similar one from Ninjor. The colliding energies converged on the outstretched hand of Sean. Sean could feel it, burning the flesh in the palm of his hand. He could also feel something solid - something slightly fading in and out, but he definitely knew something was there. The smooth surface of its underside confirmed his suspicions as the crackling of energy subsided. As he opened his eyes, they were greeted with the sight of a small gold coin, decorated with the head of a rhinoceros.
"The coin is forged," Zordon said, "You must now travel to Hykrania to obtain the Hammer of Hykrania. With the mystic weapon, you will be able to activate your powers. Go and may the Power protect you."
Aisha went to his side. "Good luck."
Sean bent down to kiss her. Just as their lips were about to touch, Alpha initiated the teleport. Sean dematerialized, leaving Aisha standing there.
"Later," she promised.
"Rangers, you must engage the two monsters. They are Firebrand and Bombardier, each just as deadly as their counterpart. Be very careful. The ShogunZords have been recalibrated to accept more power. Shielding is increased to protect you from their weaponry. The FalconZord's firing array has received an energy recalibration. You will be able to stand up to these creatures."
"You got it, Zordon," Tommy told him, "It's morphing time! White Ranger Power!"
"Black Ranger Power!"
"Pink Ranger Power!"
"Blue Ranger Power!"
"Yellow Ranger Power!"
"Red Ranger Power!"
The hard metallic NinjaTech armor was replaced with the normal uniforms of the Power Rangers.
In the same instant that they morphed, they teleported away. As they appeared, Firebrand and Bombardier were taking it to the city. Buildings lay in ruin at the feet of these horrid menaces, while the citizens scurried about like ants, trying to get away from them and the falling debris.
"We need ShogunZord Power now!" the Rangers yelled.
From their secret hiding places, the five ShogunZords ran forth. They were followed closely behind by the White FalconZord, who screeched a long call. The Power Rangers jumped through their Zord portals and sat in the cockpits of their weapons. Advancing towards the scene of the battle, the ShogunZords prepared to meet their enemies.
