You start out in Wakaba town. At the start of the game, go out of your room and go downstairs. You'll see your mom. Talk to her and she hands you the Pocket Gear and asks you to set the date on your gameboy (Paul, am i right?) Then, go out of your house. You'll see a large building next to your house. It's the pokemon lab. There Professor Utsugi (It's not Prof Oak!) lets you select one of the 3 starting Pokemon. You could either choose Chikorita, a grass type pokemon, Waninoko, a water type pokemon, or Hinoarashi, a fire pokemon. If you want to finish the game easily, choose the fire type. If you want a challenge, choose the grass type. Starting players should go with Hinoarashi for a much easier time. After choosing one, explore a bit then go west until you reach Yoshino City. In Yoshino there is an old man standing, talk to him and he will bring you around the city, then he goes into his house. Enter the house and talk to him, and he will give you the Map Card. You can now use your Pocket Gear to look at the map. Then go north along Route 30, building up your pokemon along the way. Eventually you will find a house. Inside is Professor Oak (I told you!!!). He will give you the Pokedex and an Unknown Egg. Then go back to Yoshino City and heal your Pokemon in the Pokemon Center. While walking east back to Wakaba Town, your rival appears. Your rival has choosen the pokemon that is strong against the type that you chose in the lab. Don't worry, His pokemon hasn't learned any special moves yet. Defeat him and go back to Wakaba Town and find Professor Utsugi. He will keep that egg for you. When you leave, one of his assistants will stop you and give you five free Pokeballs. Head west to Yoshino City and explore the city. Be sure to talk to everyone there. Then head north and you will find a way to Kikyou City. If you find a bellsprout along the way, catch it. A certain boy in Kikyou city trades a bellsprout for an Onix. At the north of the city there is a tower called the Tower of Bellsprouts. You'll encounter some very weird monks here. (Very stupid, they worship a weak pokemon). Defeat all the monks. The monks use plant pokemon so if you go with Hinoarashi, you wouldn't have any problems. If you didn't chose Hinoarashi, I advise that you build up your pokemon a little more before entering. In the tower, you run into your rival again but he won't fight you! After all the monks have been defeated, the last monk at the topmost floor will give you HM 01 Flash. Then go to the first gym. This gym uses only bird pokemon, so if you chose the grass pokemon, be careful. Defeat the gym leader and he will give you the Wing Badge. It allows you to use Flash. Then go to the Pokemon Center in this city and you'll find that Professor Utsugi is there waiting for you. He'll give you back your Unknown Egg. But be sure that you are not bringing more than 5 Pokemon with you. Bring that egg with you and after about an hour it will hatch! It's Togepi!Go south and you will find a cave. Finish the puzzle. There are actually 4 of them, but you can go back to them later. If you finished the puzzle, you will fall to an egyptian tomb and you will find a strange pokemon that has many forms. Go south, and will find another cave called Link Cave, but before you enter, be sure to catch one of those electric sheep. They can be quite helpful especially in the Silver Version (for Lugia), since most of the pokemon in this area are weak against electricity. After exploring the cave, head out and head to the next town, Hiwada Town. In Hiwada Town you'll see that there is a well being blocked by a Team Rocket member. You can't do anything yet so enter the north-most house and a man will run out. Then go back to the well that was previously blocked and get in. There you will find some Team Rocket members and two Slowpokes. Defeat the Team Rocket members to rescue the Slowpokes. (The Team rocket members are pushovers anyway) After rescuing the poor li'l Slowpokes get out and enter the second gym.In the second gym, the trainers all use bug type pokemon, so If you chose the grass type pokemon, be careful again. Defeat the gym leader and he'll give you the Insect Badge. It allows you to use TM 05 Cut. Then go west into the Ubame Forest. Before you go in, your rival shows up again and he challenges you to a match. He uses his pokemon, Gastly, and Zubat. Now's your chance to show off your pokemon skills!Inside the Ubame Forest there is a Farfetch'd. Talk to it and it'll run away. Chase it back to its owner (the man standing north). Then the man standing beside the owner gives you HM 05 Cut as a reward. Look for the strange tree blocking an area and use Cut on it. It'll fall apart and you can enter. Go north, get out of the forest, and you'll notice that there is a house on your right. This is the Pokemon Daycare, inside is an old man and an old woman. You can leave 2 of your Pokemon here for them to look after. Your Pokemon can gain experience here and gain levels, but you have to pay money when you want to take them back (after you leave your pokemon here, they gain 1 xp per step you take.) Here you can crossbreed Pokemon too! In crossbreeding, give a male pokemon to the man, and a female pokemon to the woman. When you return, be sure you have 3 slots free. Two for the pokemon you gave them, and the third one for the egg. Or if you want, get only the egg and leave the two pokemon to gain xp. Go further north and reach Kogane City. Find the pokemon center and heal your pokemon then enter the gym. All of the Trainers here use normal type pokemon. Be sure to bring a lot of awakenings because the gym uses a lot of Clefairys and Jigglypuffs. They can put all of your pokemon to sleep. Defeat the gym leader and get the Regular Badge. It allows you to use HM 04 Strength. Leave and explore the city and find the bike shop. If you have the bike voucher, the man there would give you a bike. Go to the house to the left of the poke center. Be sure you have a free slot. A man there would give you an Eevee. Enter the Radio Tower (the highest black building), and talk to the right-most lady behind the counter. She asks you 5 questions and if you get themall right (the answers are Yes, Yes, No, Yes, No) she will give you the Radio Card. Get out from the tower and go into houses and talk to the people in the upper right corner. In the house with many flowers, a girl there would give you Squirtle liquid. After getting that item, go north to the Nature Park. This is like the Safari zone in R/G/B/Y, but better, since you could use one pokemon here (Be sure to choose the one with sleeping, or paralyze techniques to make capturing pokemon here a breeze). Go east through the building. Go a bit north and you will find a tree-like thing blocking the way. Face it and press A if you got the squirtle liquid. The tree would then attack you. I recommend you to capture the tree coz it'sthe only one in the game. After you catch the tree Get TM08 from the man standing to the right of the tree. This TM enables you to remove cracked stones. Finish the battle, then go north to Enjiu City.In Enjiu city, explore the city, find the pokemon center, the shops then enter the gym. In this gym, the trainers all use ghost type pokemon, so bring a psychic or ground pokemon since Gastlys and Haunters are weak against psychic and their poision attacks are quite useless against ground types. Be careful of the invisible planks in the gym. If you fall down, you would be teleported back to the gym entrance. Defeat the gym leader and get the Phantom Badge. It allows you to use HM 03 Surf.In Enjiu City there is a house with a Ryhdon and lots of Japanese dancing girls. ALthough they look pretty, these girls don't take to kindly to strangers and they'll attack you. They all use Eevee's evolutions: Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Eifi (Psychic Eevee), and Blacky (Evil Eevee). Defeat all the dancing girls then talk to the man who is watching you fight. He'll give you HM 03 Surf. Go to the tower at the north. Be sure one of your pokemons are equipped with TM08. Defeat the trainers in the tower, and at the end, you would find the three legendary dogs (or birds, paul?) going away in diffrent directions. Go west, and you will find a Miltank Farm. Explore the farn then Go south to Asagi City.Enter the Asagi gym but nobody is inside. Leave and explore the city. You'll find your rival but he won't fight you again. In Asagi city, there's a man in this city eho gives you HM 04 Strength. after you explore the city, Surf west then south and reach Taban City. During surfing you may notice a set of islands that are blocked by some whirlpools. That island is called the Floating Island. Later, this is where you would find Lugia. You are now in Taban city. Be sure to have HM 04 before you enter the gym. In this gym, they all use fighting pokemon, so have a psychic or flying pokemon. Defeat the gym leader and get the Shock Badge. It allows you to use HM 05 Fly. Then in the city, a girl standing gives you HM 05 Fly. Before you go, be sure to talk to the salesman south of the gym. He gives you an item. Equip fly on your pokemon then use your pokemon to fly back to Asagi city. There is a lighthouse near the southeast coast of the city. It is the Asagi Lighthouse. Go inside and upstairs, at you'll find the Gym Leader Mikan hiding out here. Talk to her and give her the item that you got from the salesman. She would leave the tower and enter the Gym. Go back to the gym with her and challenge her to a match. There are no trainers here. It's a one on one battle. Mikan uses steel type pokemon. She uses 2 magnemites and a steel Onix. so for the first two, use a ground pokemon, and the last one, a water pokemon (Steel is weak against water). Defeat her and get the Steel Badge. Fly back to Enjiu City and go east through the Mortar Mountain and reach Chouji Town.In Chouji Town there is a man in the east area and every time you want to pass the way, he charges you 300 yen but he doesn't let you go. What a rip-off! The gym in Chouji town is blocked so go north through a building. Be careful! there is an easier way on the right hand side, but every time you pass it Team Rocket members will charge you 1000 yen! So I recommennd that you go along the grassy area in the left. Reach the Angler Lake, and there is a Red Gyrados. Beat it or capture it, then go ashore. Then Lance appears (the one in the Elite Four). Talk to him and he gives you an item. then go back to Chouji Town and go to the to the store next to that fake who charges 300 yen. Go inside and Lance is there. He leads you down the secret staircase. It's the Team Rocket base. Everytime you cross a statue, at least two rockets would battle you successively. They would either use rattatas, Koffings, or both. A psychic would come in handy. Defeat them all and talk to everyone. Get the key from the bookshelf near a computer at the lower right. Defeat the boss. Go back and open the door. Then the boss and a woman show up. Lance shows up and asks if he could fight with you. (Lance looks and acts kinda like Vegeta in DBZ!) Cooperate with Lance to defeat the bosses. Go inside the power source and you'll battle 6 electrodes. You and Lance would each defeat 3 Electrodes. When you defeat them, Lance give you HM 06 Whirlpool-Crasher. Go to the gate where the team rockets were, and the gatekeeper would give you a TM. Go back to the Chouji gym now. The gym is a huge ice puzzle, and everyone uses ice pokemons. A fire or electric type would come in handy (What did I tell you about the electric sheep). Defeat him and get the Ice Badge. It allows you to use HM 06 Whirlpool-Crasher. Fly back to Kogane City and enter the Radio Tower. You discover that it has been invaded by Team Rocket! Defeat each member and go up and up. Talk to the gentleman and he gives you the key for the prison. Go to the underground tunnel in this city and there is a passage leading to the prison. Open the door and go downstairs. Your rival would then appear and challenge you. After you beat him, go and heal your pokemon then return and defeat the 3 guys standing there, and switch the 3 switches next to the 3 guys on the wall to open the stone doors.Fight the Team Rocket members, and rescue the man and he will give you the key to the door in the radio tower. Go back to Radio Tower and open the gate on the 3rd floor and battle all the trainers. The two bosses are here again. Defeat them. Now fly back to Chouji Town.Go east, and the man is no longer there. Go east and into the Ice Loophole. Just solve the Ice puzzles, but before you get out, be sure to catch ice pokemon (for the eight gym). Note:Be sure you get all the items in the ice loophole since one of them is HM07, which is waterfall-up. You can't go to the Elite Four without it.Enter the Last Gym. Make sure you have Pokemon with Strength. Everyone here uses dragons so train your ice pokemon first, before defeating the gym leader.Defeat her but she doesn't give you a badge. Surf and get into the Dragon Cave north to the gym. You could find dratini's only here, so be sure to get one. Surf again and crash the whirlpool and find the item. Pick it up and immediately Ibuki shows up. She gives you the Raging Badge which allows you to use HM 07 Waterfall-Up.Since you have all 8 badges, you are now ready to defeat the elite four.Fly back to Wakaba Town and find Professor Utsugi. He gives you a Master Ball. Then surf along the river to the east. Go into the cave and inside is the Tojou Waterfall. Use Waterfall-Up to climb. Get out of the cave and the girl in the house gives you a TM. Walk along the path and defeat all trainers. Go into the building at the end of the path, and there is 3 passages: the left one and the right one was blocked. Go along the middle one. The Victory Road is now easier than in the R/G/B/Y. You'll run into your rival again. Defeat him and you'll reach Indigo Plateau.Note: Don't talk to the old man in the left, he'll teleport you back to your house. Use it only if your pokemon have really low Exp or you want to buy cheaper healing stuff.Go upstairs and battle the Elite Four. Some of the trainers are from R/B/Y. I don't want to spoil the excitement so I'm only going to give hints. The first one uses psychic pokemon, the next one is Koga, The third one is Bruno, The fourth one uses Evil type pokemon. After you defeat all 4, you would beat Lance (They should have called it the elite 5). If you defeat him, you are now the League Champiuon!!! After that, Prof. Oak and your mom would be there. Lance would then put your pokemon in the hall of fame. The credits would scroll and... The End, or is it?After the ending, you are in Wakaba Town. Find Professor Utsugi and he gives you the Ship Ticket. Fly to Asagi City and enter the south-most house. Walk along the passage and at last you reach the dock. Go aboard the ship. Defeat every trainer, so the sailor would let you pass. Visit the captain of the ship and talk to the girl next to him. Now leave the ship. and SURPRISE!!!!You are now in in Vermillion City!!! You've just taken a trip back to the original pokemon world! Is this cool or what? Go to the pokemon fan club. Talk to the president and he gives you an item. Then talk to the man below the president and he would give you a Clefairy Doll. Defeat Lt. Surge. Defeat him and get the Orange Badge. Then go north to Saffron City.Go to the psychic's house and he would give you a TM. Then go to copycat's house and give her the Clefairt doll. She would give you a ticket that allows you to use the train from Saffron to Kogane City. Go to Sabrina's gym. and defeat her to get the Marsh Badge. Head west to Celadon City. Head to Sabrina's gym and defeat all of her plants to get the rainbow badge. Go west, through the Cycling Road and reach Fuschia City.Go to the gym, and defeat all the trainers. They all use poison type pokemon. Beat the ninja master to get the pink badge. Go east and north to go to Lavender town.A man at the radio tower in Lavender would modify your radio card. Go north to the rock tunnel, make sure you have Flash. After going out of rock tunnel, surf in the canal to the power plant. Talk to the man at the reactors. When you get out, a messenger would talk to the scientist. Head west to Cerulean city.Enter the gym, and a team rocket member shows up. Go to nugget bridge and defeat him. Head east to Bill's house and defeat all the trainers. Misty is there talking with his boyfriend!?? Talk to her, and she goes away. Head back to the gym. Go inside and deat all the trainers. Defeat Misty and get the Cascade Badge. Before leaving, search around the square pool in the middle and you will find an item. Go to the Power Plant. Inside the Power Plant, talk to the man standing at the right side. He gives you a TM and an item. Fly to Vermilion city, head east, and encounter the Snorlax. Tune your radio to the highest frequency. Press A at the snorlax and it will attack. Be careful, it is at level 50. Capture it since it is the only one in the game. Go through Diglett's cave and end up in Pewter City. Defeat brock to get the boulder badge. Head to Mt. Moon and battle your rival. This is the last time you are going to battle with him. After that, go south through the Viridian forest (not a forest anymore), through Viridian City, and head back to Pallet town. Surf south to Cinnabar Island and Gary Oak is there!. Talk to him, and he teleports. Heal your pokemon, and head east to seafoam islands. Enter the cave and defeat Blaine to get the Crimson badge. Fly back to Viridian city.In Viridian city, head back to the gym. Guess who's the leader... It's Gary. He uses the pokemon he used in R/G/B/Y. So have a balanced team. Defeat him to get the green badge. Heal your pokemon and go the building north of the gym. You are going to battle a clone of Yourself. YOur clone has all 3 starting pokemons at their final evolved stage. This is a good time to level up your pokemons since you could defeat yourself over and over again as long as your HP's are full enough. After collecting all 16 Badges fly back to Pallet Town. Find Professor Oak and talk to him. He tell you to go to Shirogane Mountain. Fly to Viridian City, head west, and enter the house. The two men that blocked the way are gone. Go along the west one. And you are now in Shirogane Mountain! Walk through those grassy areas and eventually you will find the cave. Okay, it's now time for the last battle. Make sure that you have at least one Pokemon over Lv.60 or you will probably lose. Enter the cave and have a short walk. Then cross the bridge and who is standing there... It's Ash Ketchum!!!. His pokemons are now stronger than ever. He uses
