The Surfing Pikachu Game is a hidden option in Yellow. It's a mini game you can play -- only if you have yourself a Surfing Pikachu of your own.

There were two ways to get it and I will explain them here.

The first way was to enter in the contest in Nintendo Power last year for 100 winners to get their own Pikachu to learn the move SURF. The contest is now over.

Yet, there is another way, and that way is Pokémon Stadium. You get yourself a Lv. 100 Pikachu and your own Lv. 100 Pokémon Team. Enter in the Round 2 Prime Cup Master Cup. When you choose your own Pokémon to fight, you must have Pikachu as one of your 3 or else the cheat will not work. If you lose, or use a continue, the cheat will end so you must reach the end without using a continue or not selecting Pikachu as one of your 3. After you win the last battle, the credits will roll and Pikachu will appear in front of a gold background. They tell you the instructions to delete a move to learn SURF and others. Then you will see Pikachu riding a Surf Board after it has learned it.

Remember the guy at the south of Fushia City who had a Pikachu as well? Add Pikachu with your party and talk with him. He'll explain that he thought he was alone having a Pikachu that knows SURF so he takes you to the minigame.

When Pikachu starts surfing on the screen, you must guide Pikachu to do flips with your Control Pad whenever Pikachu flies from a wave. You must land perfectly without putting Pikachu in the water. You earn points as you surf towards an island. It's over when Pikachu on the map reached the island.

This game is quite fun, and you may want to try it yourself. Try using Pikachu in the water and see your Pikachu in Surfing action!
