None of the Gold/Silver Pokémon evolve using the Fire, Water, Thunder, Leaf, and Moon Stones, but two of them do evolve using the Sun Stone. The Fire, Water, Thunder, and Leaf Stones are rare though, because you only get one of them in each game! Use them wisely, but there are two more ways you can recieve them, but it could be fairly rare to get them still. First thing, is that you can use Mystery Gift with a friend and recieve it then, but the item is rare, so there's a slim chance you can get them. The other way is to get your friend to trade you a stone with a Pokémon attached to it, but still, your friend may not want to trade their rare stones! Bill's Granpa is in his old sea cottage on the top of Cerulean City, where Bill used to live with his teleporter. He wants to see cute Pokémon as a last thing of his life. His first request was a Lickitung, and your gift would be an Everstone. Everstones don't evolve Pokémon, but it does the exact opposite -- preventing a Pokémon from evolving. It's good to have this item when you want to keep your basic Pokémon and not having to press "B" everytime it grows a level. Moon Stones won't give you any problem, since you can get a free one everytime you visit the Clefairy every Monday night out in the fields of Mount Moon. You'll need Rock Smash to crack the rock to find a hidden Moon Stone underneath. The dance is a great thing to see!
