DIRT and NASCAR Racing

WELCOME TO THE RACING PAGE

Welcome to the racing page. Racing has been a major part of my childhood. I remember my father working on George Marcus' race car when I was 3. I have been going to the races at Lebanon Valley Speedway for years now since then, and I'm now working on Mike Keeler's #55 ride. The track I attend, Lebanon Valley Speedway , races DIRT Modifieds, Sportsman, and Pro Sotcks on Saturday nights during the summer.

So, what is a DIRT Modified? I know a lot of you are asking that. A DIRT Modified is a race car (a REAL race car) that's built to race on dirt race tracks around the country. The cars have 460 cu. in. engines. If You don't know what I'm talkin about, they're BIG. Just BIG. They can put out 800 horsepower when they want to, and we can usually go about 110-120 mph on the straightaways (for everyone who wanted to know how fast they go, lol). The DIRT Sportsman are a little slower, because their engines are smaller, about 355 cu. in., and they only put out about 400 horsepower. We run in a whole different class because of the disadvantages, but we are only sometimes a half-second off of the Modifieds' pace, sometimes quicker.

I've been around racing for years. I've pretty much been a fan for a long time. I always enjoyed watching the races more than actually working on the cars. That's changed since then, because I now am working with Mike Keeler on his DIRT Sportsman ride.
