NEW ZEALAND WARS 1845 - 1847

Lieutenant  Jack Beatty - 99th Reg - died of wounds 11 July 1845
New Zealand newspaper -
"At Waikato on 11th July 1845, from wounds received at the assault on  the pah of Heke,  the rebel chief, Edward Beatty  Esq, Lieut., HM's 99th Regt, second  son of D Beatty Esq of Heathfield,  Co.Wexford, Ireland. This gallant young officer was highly esteemed  and is most deeply regretted by his brother officers."
