1984 - [1954] UNRELEASED, P&S, D/Rudolph Cartier. BBC shot teleplay adaption of the Orwell novel that actually may be the best version to date. Reminds me a lot of early Dr. Who episodes in style & direction. Stars Peter Cushing and Donald Pleasance. B&W. App. 120 min.

54 - [1998] LBX WORKPRINT, D/Mark Christopher. This uncut workprint is letterboxed, timecoded and property tagged. Poor quality.

ALADDIN - [1996] LBX WORKPRINT. Disney's animated musical, letterboxed and time coded, combines inked story boards, pencil tests, and rough, preliminary animation set to the script featuring the musical numbers which were cut from the final release. 80 min.

ALCHEMIST OF THE SURREAL - [1964-82] D/Jan Svankmajer. Stop-motion animated shorts from the Czechoslavakian master himself, Jan Svankmajer. Includes Dimensions Of Dialogue, Et Cetera, Punch & Judy, The Last Trick, Ossuary, Leonardo's Diary, and the Edgar Alan Poe based short Pendulum, Pit and Hope.

ALF BLOOPERS - Time coded. Hear Alf swear & flub his lines. App. 60 min.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND - [1976] UNCUT, D/Bud Townsend, S/Kristine DeBell. This is the classic, perverted adult musical adaption of Lewis Carroll's tale in an uncut print (including the infamous BJ scene).

ALIEN 3 - [1992] LBX WORKPRINT, D/David Fincher, S/Sigourney Weaver. The third installment, this is the letterboxed workprint that features the cut "Newt's Autopsy" scene & the "catch & release" sequence as well as a few other changes. No music or credits. Fair Quality101

AMBLIN - [1968] D/Steven Spielberg, S/Richard Levin, Pamela McMyler. Unreleased short film about two kids in desert just, well, amblin'. App. 26 min.

AMERICAN PIE - [1999] LBX NC-17 WORKPRINT, D/Paul Weitz. A group of friends at the end of their senior year make a pact to lose their virginity by prom night. This workprint with the alternate title "Great Falls" was rated NC-17, so this will not be the July theatrical release! Property tagged.

AMAERICAN PLAYHOUSE - Fool's Fire - [19xx] From Edgar Allen Poes' Hopfrog and excerpts from The bella and the dream within a dream...with addition excerpts from Francois Rabelais' Gargantua and Pantagruel. For those that aren't familiar with the story: Hopfrog is a dwarf(?) who's wife is mistreated by their masters so he takes a very interesting revenge out on them. A combination of a midget cast with large, grotesque puppets as the ruling class. Pretty damn surreal.

AMERICAN PSYCHO - [2000] LBX WORKPRINT, D/Mary Harron, S/Christian Bale, William DaFoe, Jared Leto, Reese Witherspoon, Samantha Mathis. Based on the novel of the same name, this is the story of an Ivy League mass murderer. I was definetly expecting more from this film. Although humorous at times, the sex and violence is lame, any tension is force fed, nothing is every really explained even though most of the film is drowned in inane dialogue. It's like they threw the first half of FDTD (somewhat interesting dialogue & short lived character development) in a blender, topped it off with the second half of FDTD (graphic sex & violence for the masses) and pressed mix. This workprint is letterboxed, is missing the score and sound effects track and includes reel changes.

AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN PARIS - [1997] LBX WORKPRINT, D/Anthony Waller, S/Julie Delpy. The second American Werewolf movie. This letterboxed workprint contains timecode and some unfinished CGI. No end credits. Very Good to Good Quality.

APT PUPIL - [1998] LBX WORKPRINT, D/Bryan Singer, S/Ian McKellen, Brad Renfro, David Schwimmer. A film about a student who blackmails and becomes engrossed in the stories of a Nazi war criminal. Great Quality.

ARABIAN NIGHTS - [1974] LBX, D/Pier Paolo Pasolini. A cult favorite gets the digital treatment. A guy loses his sex slave and goes on a quest to find her, partaking in a few more "indulgences" along the way. (OOP DVD)

ARLINGTON ROAD - [1999] LBX WORKPRINT, D/Mark Pellington, S/Jeff Bridges, Tim Robbins, Joan Cusak. A college professor becomes increasingly obsessed with the culture and sub-society of terrorists after his wife is killed in an FBI operation gone wrong. He becomes increasingly paranoid about his neighbors, could they themselves be terrorists? Letterboxed for "her" pleasure.

THE ASTRONAUT'S WIFE - [1999] LBX WORKPRINT, D/Rand Ravich, S/Johnny Depp, Charlize Theron. This workprint features mostly finished footage interspliced with storyboard shots of the unfilmed sequences. Letterboxed and Time Coded.

AUSTIN POWERS: The Spy Who Shagged Me - [1999] LBX WORKPRINT, D/M. Jay Roach, S/Mike Myers, Heather Graham. Yeah baby. An uncut workprint with a bunch of footage not in the release. Picture is a little jumpy.

BACK TO THE FUTURE RIDE - The video from the ride at Universal Studios theme park. App. 5 min.

BACK TO THE FUTURE SCREEN TESTS - [1984] This audition tape features Crispin Glover (George McFly), Lea Thompson (Lorraine) & Thomas F. Wilson (Biff). Also a behind the scenes look at the makeup process of the younger McFly and the dancing scene with Lorraine. Fair -> Great quality. App 25 mins.

BEYOND THE DOORS aka Down On Us - [1984] D/Larry Buchanan. Rare conspiracy film on the deaths of Morrison, Hendrix and Joplin.

BLADE RUNNER - [1982] LBX, UNCUT WORKPRINT, D/Ridley Scott, S/Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young. This 113 min workprint was camcordered at a convention and features the following differences, among others:



BLUE - [1992] Rare X-Rated short starring David Cronenberg (with his clothes on). App. 20 min.

BODY SHOTS - [2000] LBX WORKPRINT, D/Michael Cristofer. A story of 8 twenty-somethings who are all out to get a piece of action during a night on the town. Letterboxed and property tagged.

BOILER ROOM - [2000] LBX WORKPRINT, D/Ben Younger. Boiler Room chronicles the rise and fall of Seth Davis (Giovanni Ribisi), an enterprising college drop-out who, determined to prove his worth to a demanding father, takes a job at a small brokerage firm. There, in the company's "boiler room", where young men eager to earn their fortunes work the phones, Seth soon masters the art of the cold call and with his new job, begins to regain his father's respect. But the "boiler room" quickly draws Seth into a world of corruption and greed, ultimately jeopardizing all that he has gained, and all that he had before. Nia Long portrays co-worker Debbie Hilliard who becomes involved with Seth, while Vin Diesel plays Chris Varick, a young broker who teaches Seth the ways of the "chop shop". Ron Rifkin(Broadway's "Cabaret", LA Confidential) appears as Seth's father, a New York City judge, while Ben Affleck makes a cameo appearance as the man who lures Seth into the illicit brokerage house.

THE BRAVE - [1997] LBX, UNRELEASED, D/Johnny Depp, S/Johnny Depp, Marlon Brando. Johnny Depp's directorial debut about an unemployed, poverty stricken American Indian who agrees to be tortured to death in exchange for $50k to help his family.

BRIDE OF RE-ANIMATOR - [1990] UNCUT WORKPRINT, D/Brian Yuzna, S/Jeffrey Combs, Kathleen Kinmont. Uncut and time coded rough cut.

BRIEN BURROUGHS SHORTS - Two surreal shorts:
aquamorphius - A B&W short that has something to do with dead fish and patterns in water
URBANA - sped up color tinted negative that looks like it could have easily been a scene in Liquid Sky.
Both shorts are app. 20 min and go great with opiates, opioids, or hallucinogens!

BRING ME THE HEAD OF CHARLIE BROWN - A short, violent spoof on the Peanuts gang. Fair quality pencil sketch.

THE CANTERBURY TAILS - [1972] LBX, D/Pier Paolo Pasolini. A cult favorite gets the digital treatment. I'm sure you've read the stories in school, well here's Pasolini's take on the tails, with a little more sex than I remember, letterboxed (1.75:1) and unrated. (OOP DVD)

Writer/Actor/Producer/Director/Editor Kevin Smith is back with a tale of a comic book artist who falls in love with a woman who turns out to be a lesbian. You've probably seen this film, and this work print is for completists. Letterboxed with some rough editing and time code along the bottom.. (fair quality)

DAISIES aka Sedmikrasky - [1966] SUB, D/Vera Chytilova . Two young Czechs named Marie, one brunette (Jitka Cerhova) and the other blonde (Ivana Karbandova), decide to spoil themselves since everything else in their world is spoiled. What ensues is 75 minutes of farcical, hedonistic adventures.

DARIO ARGENTO TOUR - [19XX] Some sort of Italian documentary featuring a tour of Dario's "Profondo Russo" store in Italy, plus interviews, trailers, and a bunch of other intersting stuff all in Italian w/ Japanese subtitles.

DAZED AND CONFUSED - [1993] LBX WORKPRINT, D/Richard Linklater. The film everyone was toking about. Contains 13 extra minutes including different music, scenes, and dialogue. A great st0n3r film you must see with a bud! App. 113 min.

DEAR PHONE - [1976] UNRELEASED, D/Peter Greenaway. App. 17 min.

DELLAMORTE DELLAMORE - [1998] LBX, UNCUT, D/Michele Soavi, S/Rupert Everett, Anna Falchi. Released full screen in the US as "Cemetary Man," this print is letterboxed and uncut from Japanese laserdisc. Hilarious horror comedy from Argento's prodigy. With Japanese subtitles.

DER FUEHRER'S FACE - Anti-Nazi spoof from Disney featuring Donald Duck working in a German bomb factory & saying "Heil Hitler" and saluting Hitler's picture. Hmm, I wonder if Disney's gonna let this out of the vault along with Song Of The South? Very Good quality upgrade.

DESERT SPIRITS - [1994] D/Patrick McGuinn. A B&W film about two buddies who decide to take some peyote while out in the desert. They come across a talking lizard, er, spirit named Nori who talks a lot about the "meat world" & who kind of guides the main character through the trip. Even features a psychic battle between two men, one of whom is possessed by an evil spirit. App. 35 min. (VCD)

DESIDERIA aka Dragon Ring - [1994] P&S, SUB, D/Lamberto Bava, S/Franco Nero, Anna Falchi, Joel Beeson. This Italian medieval fantasy was a TV miniseries directed by the great Lamberto Bava. This series rips off many classic tales with it's baby lost in the woods being raised by wolves and a lady of the lake who offers a sword (via an arm coming out of water even) to our hero, to name two. Also has some mean spirited talking dolls, lots of animated inanimate objects, talking animals, witchcraft, heroic sword fights, and ...mmm... Anna Falchi. If there was ever a reason to expatriate, her name would be Anna.

DEVELOPING - [1995] SUNDANCE CUT, D/Marya Cohn, S/Frances Conroy, Jon DeVries, Natalie Portman. Unreleased Sundance short about breast cancer starring Natalie Portman. App. 28 min.

DOTTIE GETS SPANKED - [19XX] UNRELEASED, D/Todd Haynes. App. 30 min.

DRAGON HEART II - [2000] FULL SCREEN WORKPRINT, D/Doug Lefler. The upcoming sequel pics up where the first movie ends. Property Tagged.

EASY RIDER - [1969] LBX, COMM, D/Dennis Hopper, S/Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, Jack Nicholson. The letterboxed (1.85:1) presentation of the film with audio commentary by Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and Paul Lewis. NOT the same commentary as the DVD issue. Also has production stills. (LD)

EDUCATION FOR DEATH: The Making of a Nazi - More anti-Nazi wartime propaganda from Disney. This one depicts what it's like growing up as a Nazi child. Where Der Fuehrer's Face pokes fun at Nazi ideology, this cartoon is much darker, it even tells of sick nazi children being carted off by the Gestapo never to be heard from again. Possibly the most evil piece of animation to come from Disney Studios.

ELECTION - [1999] LBX WORKPRINT, D/Alexander Payne, S/Matthew Broderick, Reese Witherspoon. A nerdy high school teacher convinces a jock to run for class president against an overachiever. This wp is timecoded and lacks ending credits.

EL TOPO - [1971] D/S/Alexandro Jodorowsky. The tale of a gunslinger who seeks to prove himself to a woman by defeating the other master gunfighters. Deceit and redemption play major roles in the outcome of the film. Not as hard to get into as The Holy Mountain, and really quite a good story. Includes trailer (1st gen from LD master)

ERASERHEAD - [1976] LBX, UNCUT, D/David Lynch. Lynch's cult classic from laserdisc. B&W.

L'ETOILE DE MER aka Star of The Sea - [1928] UNRELEASED, D/Man Ray. App. 16 min.

EYES WIDE SHUT - [1999] UNCUT, D/Stanley Kubrick, S/Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman. The uncut import of Kubrick's final film with the orgy scene intact and the chanting unscathed.

THE FABULOUS ADVENTURES OF BARON MUNCHAUSEN aka Baron Prasil - [1961] UNRELEASED, D/Karel Zeman. The original Czech adaption of the fantastic tales of Baron Munchausen told through live actors, animation, and 19th century engravings. A visual masterpiece! App. 87 min.

FAERIES - [1981] UNRELEASED, D/Fred Hellmich, Lee Mishkin. This unreleased animated cartoon was written by Alan Aldrich & Christopher Gore and revolves around a young man who must help the Faeries defeat an evil shadow before sunrise. App. 30 min.

FANTASTIC FOUR - [1994] UNRELEASED, P&S, D/Oley Sasson. Unreleased film produced by Roger Corman.

THE FAT AND THE LEAN aka Gruby i chudy - [1961] UNRELEASED, D/Roman Polanski. AKA Gros et la maigre, Le App. 14 min.

FEAR AND DESIRE - [1953] UNRELEASED, P&S, D/Stanley Kubrick. Early Kubrick surrounding four soldiers who survive the crash-landing of their plane to find themselves in a forest six miles behind enemy lines. B&W. App. 68 min.

FEAST OF FRIENDS - UNRELEASED P&S, Tour documentary on the doors featuring concert & backstage footage. Produced by The Doors and photographed by Paul Ferrara.

FIGHT CLUB - [1999] LBX WORKPRINT, D/David Fincher. This uncut workprint runs contains quite a few extended scenes some of which aren't on the DVD.

FRIDAY THE 13TH - [1980] P&S, SUB, UNCUT, D/Sean S. Cunningham.
The following scenes were cut in order to avoid an "X" rating from the MPAA:
FRIDAY THE 13th PART 5 - A NEW BEGINNING - [1985] VERSiON 2, D/Danny Steinmann, S/John Shepard, Melanie Kinnaman, Corey Parker, Dick Wieand. This time the horror isn't confined to camp, as a home for troubled teenagers is subjected to one shocking murder after another. Has hockey-masked hacker Jason returned from the grave, or is a new killer following in his bloody footsteps? Created for the overseas market, this version contains new scenes and diffrent dialogue, also features more gore. The bottotm of the screen reads VERSION 2 in bold white letters.

THE FRIGHTENERS - [1996] LBX, COMM, SUPP, D/Peter Jackson, S/Michael J. Fox, Trini Alvarado. The widescreen (2.35:1) Director's Cut of the film with audio commentary by Peter Jackson, featuring app. 12 mins of never-before-scene footage.

FROM DUSK TILL DAWN - [1996] UNCUT REEL, D/Robert Rodriguez, S/George Clooney, Quentin Tarantino. This is a 35mm reel that starts at the bar fight and extends until they escape to the daylight. It features extended gore effects and missing opticals. This is NOT the footage featured on the LD release, this is much more. I can also splice this reel into the LD release. App. 60 min. FROM DUSK TILL DAWN: The Hangman's Daughter - [1998] LBX WORKPRINT, D/P. J. Pesce, S/Ara Celi. Actually a prequel to the series, this film is set in the old west and tells the story of the birth of the vampire princess Santanico Pandemonium. This letterboxed workprint is timecoded.

THE GAME - [1997] LBX WORKPRINT, D/David Fincher, S/Michael Douglas. A psychological thiller about a game in which the objective is to figure out the objective. For completists, this workprint is of fair quality and lacks ending credits.

GATES OF HEAVEN - [1978] "Independent documentary maker Earl Morris interviews pet cemetery proprietors, pet owners, embalmers, as they talk candidly about their feelings for the dear departed and their work dealing with the bereaved. A typically off-center look at American obsessions."

GATTACA - [1997] LBX WORKPRINT, D/Andrew M. Niccol. A human story set in the future where genetic imperfections determine your role in life. An outcast struggles against his label to achieve more than society would allow. Fair quality workprint.

GETTYSBURG - [1993] LBX, UNCUT, D/Ronald F. Maxwell, S/Tom Berenger, Martin Sheen, Stephen Lang. A long-ass movie made even longer in this director's cut, clocking in at 271 min. And that's just the movie, not to mention all the extras on this box set. (LD)

H.R. GIGER'S NECRONOMICON & PASSAGEN - [19XX] P&S Two documentaries on the great artist who is most notably known for his design of the alien for the film "Alien." Only one is in english.

HEAVENLY CREATURES - [1994] LBX WORKPRINT, D/Peter Jackson, S/Kate Winslet, Melanie Lynskey. One of Jackson's best, based on a true story about two girls, Pauline and Juliet, who become obsessed with their fantasy relationship and conspire to kill Pauline's mother when their relationship is threatened. A great film (ranked as one of my favorites), this New Zealand print is letterboxed, time coded, and contains all known footage cut from the American release, including the extended love scene between Pauline and Juliet.

HEAVY METAL - [1980] FULL SCREEN WORKPRINT. This uncut workprint is not the same as the storyboards released on the US DVD, this is a much more complete print! Most of the film is pencil test footage and story board inserts featuring all dialogue, but missing sound FX and most music. Lots of changes and additions and even a whole story that was dropped. Good to Very Good quality.

THE HOLY MOUNTAIN - [1974] LBX, UNCUT, D/Alejandro Jodorowsky. Wow, you have to be on acid to fully appreciate this film. Jesus comes down from the cross, smokes a joint with an amputee, then meets up with others to quest for the seat of God, the Holy Mountain. This movie is just plain fucked up, plenty of religious symbols interwoven with hallucinatory madness. To give you a little taste, there's one scene where Jesus (a man who grunts and acts like an ape) awakens to find himself surrounded by plaster figures in the likeness of him crucified. Naturally, he freaks out and breaks shit. Deep man, deep... Oh, there are plenty of dramatic exploding frogs too! This film is one of Jodorwsky's rarest, I doubt it will ever be released in the US. Includes trailers. (1st gen from japanese LD)

This is one of those films that as a kid got me interested in the technical process of film making. Features audio commentary, trailer, deleted scenes, and bloopers. (2nd gen from LD)

HWY - [1969] UNRELEASED P&S, Rare film featuring Jim Morrison's adventure in the desert. Jim wanders around the barren landscape, drives his car down the highway, witnesses the death of a coyote and eventually goes back into the city.

IDLE HANDS - [1999] LBX WORKPRINT, D/Rodman Flender, S/Devon Sawa, Seth Green, Elden Ratliff, Jessica Alba, Chistopher Hart. "The touching story of a boy and his right hand." LEGEND - [1985] EUROPEAN CUT, D/Ridley Scott. This is the Alternate European version of this Fantasy film. The international release is 20 minutes longer than the American version and contains an original Jerry Goldsmith score. The extra time isn't comprised only of cut scenes, but the movie is edited using different camera angles and shots making the European version a quite different film.

This was done to showcase an hour of excised footage that director was forced to cut. This extra footage, which includes more of the citizens of Castle Rock and their lives, brings the total run to three hours. The character of Cora Rusk, played by Lisa Blount, is shown in more than passing. (2 tapes)

PAGANINI - [1989] P&S, DUBBED, D/Klaus Kinski. The only film written & directed by Kinski, and sadly his last film. Kinski plays the title role, the legendary violinist Niccolo Paganini, whose performances were able to drive women to the point of orgasm. Two of his young lovers are played by his real-life daughters Debora and Nicolai! Sadly Kinski died shortly after completing his labor of love. Also stars Marcel Marceau and Donatella Rettore. Full Screen print dubbed in English w/ Japanese subs.

TITICUT FOLLIES - [1967] UNRELEASED D/Frederick Wiseman. A controversial 84-minute survey of conditions that existed during the mid-'60s at the State Prison for the Criminally Insane in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Made in 1967, the film was subjected to a worldwide ban until 1992 because the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled that it was an invasion of inmate privacy. The film goes behind the walls to show stark and graphic images exposing the treatment of inmates by guards, social workers, and psychiatrists. The title refers to a musical revue staged by inmates and guards. Richard Schickel, writing in Life, stated, "The repulsive reality revealed in Titicut Follies forces us to contemplate our capacity for callousness." The documentary was cited as the "Best Film Dealing with the Human Condition" at the 1967 Festival Dei Popoli (Florence) and also honored as the "Best Film" at the 1967 Mannheim International Filmweek. Robert Coles (The New Republic) wrote, "After a showing of Titicut Follies the mind does not dwell on the hospital's ancient and even laughable physical plant, or its pitiable social atmosphere. What sticks, what really hurts is the sight of human life made cheap and betrayed." The story behind the complicated legal issues raised by this film and the attempts to suppress it are detailed by Carolyn Anderson and Thomas W. Benson in their book, Documentary Dilemmas: Frederick Wiseman's "Titicut Follies" (Southern Illinois University Press, 1991).
