Synopsis: Two boxing champions fight in an ultimate match to prove who is the one true champ

While real life boxing has never held any charm for me, it seems many great films are about boxing. From classics like Rocky to more recent films like Hurricane with Denzel Washington. Now another can be added to the list: Undisputed.

When the heavyweight boxing champ of the outside world, George "Iceman" Chambers is convicted of rape, he is sent to a high security prison where the reining prison champ of ten years, Munroe Hutchens, is also jailed. Iceman comes in with a big attitude. Recklessly knocking down anyone who dares to talk to him, the god of all gladiators. He is undefeated on the outside, but he has yet to box the undeated on the inside.

Whereas Iceman walks around with the an ego bigger than his muscles, and lets everyone know it, Munroe keeps to himself. He does not need to brag. First of all, because everyone in the prison already knows he is the champ. But more importantly, because he doesn't need recognition. He obviously boxes for himself, not for the public attention.

The match is arranged, and true to boxing movie form, the winner is obvious from the beginning. The fight follows the formula: the winner gets tore up in the beginning of the fight, but always comes back and kicks the other guys ass in the end. This is what I would consider the boring part of the movie, one, because it is predictable, and two, because I am girl and two guys hitting eachother is pretty boring for me. The great part was the end of the movie. The old man's words and then the final shot of Wesley Snipes, in which the look on his face needs no words to accompany it, stuck with me.

The soundtrack to the film was, of course, full of hip hop and rap music. Whether it was good rap music I wouldnt be able to tell you. However, I did notice a couple of times that the music was changed up a bit, and I heard some seventies style rock music, which I loved.

Bottomline: Guys like it for the boxing, but the girls will enjoy it as well for the meanings behind the boxing story.
